It is with great sadness that the family of David Smith aged 75 years of St. John’s, NL suddenly passed away on January 31, 2025. David leaves to mourn his children Barbara Patey(Glenn), Barry Smith (Michelle); grandchildren Brian, Michael, Jovee and Sanoi; his sisters Florence Verlinde and Bernice King; sisters-in-law Debbie Smith and Helen Smith as well as many nieces, nephews, life-long friends, and co-workers.
Predeceased by his wife Margaret, Parents Jacob and Elizabeth Smith Siblings; Eric, Fred, Sylvia, Wince, and Wayne. Parents-in-law Cecil and Mercedes Laing, Sisters-in-law Elizabeth and Lorraine Laing, Theresa Smith. Brothers-in-law Arthur King, Lawrence Verlinde and Ronald Snea
In keeping with David’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
Visitation will take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home 329 Freshwater Rd. St. John’s, NL, from 2-4pm and 7-9 pm. Friday Feb 7, 2025.
Funeral service will take place on Saturday, February 8th, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Carnell Memorial Chapel.
Interment to follow in the Kenmount Anglican Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society, or to one’s charity choice

My condolences on Dave’s passing, I worked with Dave at the Avalon Mall and enjoyed many conversations with him. Sincere condolences to the family.

I have many fond memories of Dave and Aggie from the Edmonton days, Camping, fishing along with our Friday night card games they treated Penny and myself so well with many laughs.
