It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our wonderful, loving husband, father and grandfather, David William Bemister, on April 29, 2026, age 78 years. Passed peacefully away at his home in Torbay, surrounded by his loving family.
Predeceased by parents Ray and Sarah Bemister.
Leaving to mourn with precious memories, his wife Carol Bemister; sons Barry Bemister (Selma) and Chris Bemister (Tammy); grandchildren David Bemister and Sarah Bemister (Ethan); and siblings Eric Bemister (Christine), Bob Bemister (Peggy), Barb Henshaw (John), Helen O’Keef (Bob), and Harry Bemister.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held at Holy Trinity Church, Torbay, on Monday, May 4 at 10 a.m.

So very sorry for your loss. Please accept our sincere condolences. I fondly remember Dave from school. It was a pleasure to greet his bus and see Dave’s smiling face . He was so kind and good. He always had something funny to say or a word of encouragement to pass on. I would often see him on the Bauline Line, mowing or shovelling or tinkering with the car or trailer. He always had a hand wave for me.

Carol and Dave have been our neighbours since they moved to Torbay 55 years, great memories and we will miss Dave outside clearing his snow and especially us raking our leaves, as I told Dave last month I am not raking his leaves. I returned home from work one afternoon to find my newly acquired car not where it should be… well an hour later I see my car coming down the lane with steam coming out of the
Hood.. Well it seems Dave ,behind the wheel had gone to see his new girlfriend Carol… at Rawlings Cross he failed to stop soon enough and bumped into a car that was stopped..at a red light.
The other driver forgave him when he realized Dave’s situation. Dave had no licence to drive and was determined to go see his new girl friend….the car was steaming and so was I …. The end
