Debra (Debbie) Lynn Pike R.N. (nee Stone) had a beautiful passion for life and touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She lived each day to the fullest. Debbie’s kindness, strength and unwavering love shaped the lives of everyone who was lucky enough to know her. She was the heart of her family, a guiding light, a best friend and a constant source of comfort. She had a rare way of making people feel truly seen and deeply loved. Debbie passed peacefully away on December 26th, 2025 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Her hope, positivity, and sunshine will continue to live on through all who knew her.
A wife, mother, sister, nana, aunt, nurse, and a loving, devoted friend. Words cannot truly express what she means to her husband and heart’s companion Dave. They shared a beautiful life together filled with love, laughter, music, adventure and countless cherished memories. Throughout forty-six years they built a life full of warmth and joy, and his love was a constant source of strength for her. Debbie’s greatest joy in life was her children, whom she loved beyond measure and supported immensely through every step of their lives: Tim (Jenna) Pike, Brittany (Jamie) O’Keefe, and Diandra (Jeff) Pretty. Her heart was fullest when she was with her treasured grandchildren, Luke O’Keefe, Ellie Pike and Sophie O’Keefe, who were the light of her life. Her identical twin sister, Donna Lodge, who was her closest friend from the very beginning, will forever carry Debbie’s memory in her heart. She also leaves behind her dear sister-in-law Peggy Stone, cherished nieces and nephews Jimmy (Denise) Stone, Jennifer (Tim) Hierlihy, Jonathan (Ashley) Lodge, Danielle (Robert) Lodge and Jeremy Lodge, and a large circle of extended family and dear friends. Among the many people whose lives she touched was her beloved best friend, Janice Gray. They shared a connection that felt more like family than friendship. Debbie also shared a beautiful bond with her adored Doodle, Harlee, whose constant companionship brought her comfort, laughter and unconditional love. Debbie and Dave’s home was always the official place for the ‘Doods to romp” – Cuddles, Harlee, Linq and Charlee. They were near and dear to her heart.
She joins in heaven her parents, Victor and Florence Stone; brother, Jim Stone; and brother-in-law, Frazer Lodge.
Debbie had a lifelong passion for travel, embracing every journey with wonder and a sense of adventure. Her early travels were filled with sunny beach days—Debbie basked in the Florida sunshine while Dave strolled along the shore, returning frequently to give her a generous coating of coconut oil. As Tim, Brittany and Diandra arrived, family vacations to Florida continued, but as road trips in their family Aerostar. No matter where their travels took them, the first order of business was always to check into their hotel, with the second being a search to find the nearest bakery. As part of their cross-country travels, Debbie and Dave always made a point of visiting towns featured in their favorite Hallmark movies. After Debbie was diagnosed, she was determined to travel to Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick with her husband, children, their spouses, and her grandchildren. This special family vacation became an unforgettable experience, as it allowed her to check off every item on her bucket list while creating cherished memories together. Debbie had a lifelong love of sweets and all things delicious, never missing a chance to indulge in her favorite treats and visit the restaurants she adored. On their most recent family vacation to Prince Edward Island, she made daily visits to Cows Creamery, never missing a chance to enjoy a scoop of her favorite ice cream, Peanut Butter Cup Cup. Debbie was a true social soul, she loved gathering with friends for food, cards, conversation, and laughter.
Debbie’s love of music spanned a lifetime, and she found joy in every note she heard or sang. Her days were filled with music, which brought her comfort and happiness throughout her life. At an early age, Debbie was a member of the St. Thomas’ Junior and Senior Choirs. This sparked her love for choral singing. Her love of musical theatre shone throughout all stages of her life, whether she was performing or enjoying a show from the audience. She proudly spoke of the community theatre productions her family participated in together, and for years, it was a tradition. The family often joked that Debbie was the original wedding crasher, as she never missed a wedding where her daughter performed. Debbie was a member of the Torbay Folk Arts Council and the Rocky Isle Singers. For the past nine years, Debbie and Dave treasured their Thursday evenings at the Traditional Coffee House—later Lorina’s—where they never missed Folk Music Night. They had a regular table which they shared with four close friends. Debbie also had a special love for dinner theatres, and she and Dave never missed an opportunity to attend one, no matter where their travels led them.
Debbie was a proud graduate of the Grace Hospital School of Nursing (Class of 1976). She furthered her studies at Memorial University of Newfoundland, earning a diploma in Public Health Nursing, where her passion for nursing began. Debbie then worked as a Registered Nurse at the Janeway Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Unit for over 20 years. She finished her career at the Breast Screening Clinic, a specialty area that she spoke fondly of. Her nursing career was marked by compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to help others. She was not only a skilled nurse but also a gentle soul whose care extended far beyond her work, leaving a lasting impact on her colleagues, patients and their families. Through her nursing career, she formed friendships that lasted a lifetime, most especially with Cindy Hill, Dawn Skulski, Annette Howell, Hazel Alpuerto, and the late Stella MacRoberts.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the wonderful staff and volunteers at the Dr. L.A. Miller Centre for their care and compassion during her final days.
A celebration of her beautiful life will be held at a later date. True to Debbie’s spirit, there will be music, laughter, and food shared among family and friends.

It is never easy to loose a sibling , mother and wife but hopefully all the beautiful words of comfort will ease some of the hurt that you are feeling today and in the time to come. Sending deepest condolences. I will leave you with a quote, I don’t recall the author but hope that the words will be a source of comfort. “TO LIVE IN THE HEARTS OF THOSE WE LOVE IS NOT TO DIE” Blessings and Peace. Maude Peach

To say my heart is broken in a million pieces, is an understatement. Donna was such a beautiful lady with a huge heart. Her love for you, Dave, was unending and inspiring. Her love for her children was unconditional. She had a huge heart that she shared to so many others. When Brittany joined The Celtic Fiddlers,,Dave proudly brought her into Gonzaga music room with her hair just so and her beautiful coat and fiddle. Brittany was a gem and a huge addition to the group, our trips to Ireland and our CD recordings. Our road trips brought you and Debbie on our adventures around the island. I was proud and honoured to have you join us with your stories, the famous Alouette song and fun and laughs by all. My memories of Debbie are wonderful, happy times together. Up to June, 2024, you Debbie and Donna danced along with our music at the Choral Convention. I was so happy to see you still volunteering and supporting our music.I will treasure Debbie always.
