I was shocked and very saddened to hear of Denise’s passing. Denise and I met in 2006 when I went to work as a public health nurse at the Viking Bldg. Our offices were on the same floor , and even though we were professionals in different disciplines, we connected on a personal level. Denise was so warm, friendly, down to earth, with a wonderful sense of humour.. I hadn’t seen her in years until last summer we exchanged telephone numbers to get together. It was only a little while ago, I looked for the scrap of paper she had written her number on. To Denise’s family and friends, I am so very sorry for your loss.

Randy and Shannon and family – The pain of grief is as mush a part of life as the joy of love – it is perhaps the price we pay for love. Ron and I recall with fond memories of the time you came to our “after wedding party” with a beautiful gift which we have to this day -14 years later…..There are no words to express our sorrow. Deepest sympathy – Pamela and Ron Rose

Margaret, Max, Randy, Shannon and family,

There are no words to properly express the sadness that is felt, at this time, by everyone who knew Denise. Our lives will never be the same for having known her, she has left a mark on us all. It is her mark of beauty inside and out, of grace and caring, of respect and compassion, of hard work and fun but most of all laughter and love. She was very special.

Our thoughts and love are with you.

Randy and Shannon,

I’m so very sorry. There aren’t really any words to express the magnitude of your loss. Know that I am thinking about you and remembering Denise.

Love,
Ariana

To Denise’s family and friends: please accept my deepest condolences on Denise’s passing. I worked with Denise and collaborated with her many times over the years. She was an easy person to get along with and we always shared a laugh when we saw each other. Denise could keep things in perspective and always provided a refreshing point of view. It was easy to see how much Denise’s family meant to her and she was always eager to share pictures and stories of her granddaughters when I saw her – she would tell me that they were the light of her life. I hope you all find comfort in the difficult days ahead.

My goodness. I’m so sad to hear of Denise’s passing. As a fellow Social Worker, Denise and I had many yarns over the years. I always admired her passion for life, for work, for her family, for her GNP roots and of course for her shoes. Sending condolences to her family at this time. With great love comes great loss. Embrace your memories. Take care, God Bless

Randy and family , Im sorry to hear of Denise’s passing.
Deepest sympathy.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May your memories bring you comfort in the coming days.

My sincere, heartfelt condolences to all the family. I had the pleasure of working with Denise several years before my own retirement and I can honestly say she was a great co worker and friend. She had deep empathy and compassion for children and families and was a real team player. Hope wonderful memories are a comfort now and in the future.

Shocked and saddened. That’s how I feel.

How can someone so vibrant, so giving, so kind be taken so soon? It not fair.

As a social worker, Denise had a big heart. She did what she could to remediate unfairness and injustice in this world. She served, inspired, and brought comfort to others. She was immensely proud of her family.

Although I hadn’t seen Denise in ages, I can easily recall how she made me feel, whenever our paths would cross. I can still hear her voice, and picture her warm smile. She was such a bright light, a kind soul (and to many, a kindred spirit).

My heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and colleagues.

Rest In Peace, Denise.

Patey family and House Family..So sorry to hear off Denise’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time..RIP

I am saddened to hear of the passing of Denise. She was a great supporter of social work field education for BSW students studying at Memorial University. While our paths only crossed a few times, her kindness, warmth, and compassion were evident. She had a warm smile, sense of humor. and great sense of style. In every meeting her passion for social work shone through. May you find comfort in knowing the many lives she touched. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I am so sorry for your loss. I hope that you are able to both grieve your loss and celebrate Denise’s life.
I got to know Denise when I was a field education coordinator at the Memorial University School of Social Work. She always would go the extra mile for students. I so appreciated her kindness, generosity, sense of humour – and her travel tales. She was so excited about her MSW journey – despite all the challenges over the last year.

Randy, Shannon and Family,
Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. I was shocked to learn of her untimely passing. Denise and I worked very closely together in CSSD to ensure the provincial delivery of the Provincial Child Welfare System, in fact I would have been lost without her support. Denise was a fierce ally for children in this province, making sure whatever she could do to improve their service was met and to support social workers delivering this critical service. Her professionalism and dedication were remarkable. While we were very busy, she always took the time to ensure those around her were well, her caring was unbounded. I never met her family and yet I feel I know each of you because of the many stories and pictures she shared, tied to her love and pride in each of you. I trust your many memories of her positive, funny and loving personality will carry you through the sadness you are currently experiencing.

So sorry to hear of Denise’s passing. She was a great social worker and I enjoyed working with her so much. Sending my sincere condolences to the family.

Denise was well known and respected throughout the social work community in NL. May it help her family to know she was so well thought of. RIP Denise. ❤️‍🩹

Words seem inadequate to express the sorrow felt by the loss of Denise. We extend our deepest sympathy to you regarding the loss of your precious wife, mother and daughter.

I feel privileged to have worked with Denise and she could be counted on to put things in perspective and keep things real. If I remember anything about Denise, it was the love she had for her family.. Denise shared openly the love and respect she had for her mom, dad and siblings. When she talked of her husband Randy it was with a smile and a tangible sense of happiness.. I never met Shannon, but i know from Denise that he was the centre of her universe and her guiding star. Chloe and Ava made her smile, and anyone she spoke to about them smiled right along with her. My deepest condolences go out to her family at this time, she will undoubtedly be missed my many.

So sorry for your loss. Denise was a great co worker / friend.
