Diana Lynn Haynes

It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Diana Haynes, who passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026, on her 74th birthday.

Diana is now reunited with the love of her life, Walter Haynes, whom she has missed dearly every single day since his passing. She was also predeceased by her parents, Eleanor and James Duvall; her brothers, Donny and Craig; her sister, April; her son-in-law, Eric; and her grandson, Richard.

She leaves behind her devoted daughter, Tina (Brian), her step-daughter Shel; and her cherished grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as the “best nana ever”: Ashley (Korey), Madyson (Josh), Kaitlyn (Zaid), Kyle (Chelsea), Sara (Sean), Tyler (Olivia), Kayla, Gabe, and Mackenzie (Kalan). She also leaves behind her precious great-grandchildren, Adelle, Emily, and Charlie, who brought her immense pride and joy; siblings Wendy, Scott (Sherry), Trudy and Steven (Betty). She also held a special place in her heart for Bev Haynes, who became her number one supporter, especially if Wally was in the room.  

Diana will be deeply missed by her lifelong friend Judy, her devoted best friend and caregiver Mary, and Patti Anne, whom she loved dearly and appreciated for her kindness which brought with it home cooked meals and baked goods.  😊

Special thanks are extended to her friend and home care worker, Susan King, for her care and compassion over the last several years and Linda Fennelly for her support and regular visits with mom. Her beloved “furbaby” Jackson, brought her great comfort and companionship.

Diana was well known as a funny, sensitive, and resilient soul. She faced many challenges throughout her life but worked tirelessly to overcome them, often being affectionately described as “the cat with nine lives.” Becoming a mother at a young age, she dedicated herself to raising her daughter Tina, the best way she knew how. 

Her greatest joy came in her later years as a nana and great-nana. She cherished the close, loving relationships she shared with each of her grandchildren, who adored her beyond words and always beamed with pride at all they had accomplished. 

Diana had a love for life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed playing cards and games, but only if there was a little money involved, and often indulged in visits to the casino, with dad in Niagara and Vegas and more recently enjoyed memorable trips to Halifax with Tina and her granddaughters.

Though we are never ready to say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with the love of her life, together again just as they were meant to be.

Diana will be loved always, missed forever, and remembered with every smile, laugh, and story shared.
