It is with deep sadness that the family of Keith Forward announce his sudden but peaceful passing on Friday, June 5th, 2026, at the age of 55, while surrounded by his family. In his younger years, Keith was a natural athlete with a deep love for sports. He proudly represented his province at the national junior curling championships, and he spent many years playing baseball and tennis. His passion for sports remained constant throughout his life, becoming a source of happiness and connection with those around him.
Following many years working within the taxi industry, Keith became a familiar face behind the wheel, spending countless hours navigating the streets of St. John’s. This line of work allowed him to cross paths with people from all walks of life, many of whom were touched by his presence and the simple moments shared along the way. We will never fully know the lives Keith impacted or the difference he made for those he encountered.
Keith leaves to mourn his mother, Audrey; his brother, Gary (Marilyn); nephew, Alexander; and niece, Leah, as well as his aunt Daphne and her family. He will be deeply missed by his close friend, Martha Cano, who was a constant source of strength and support in his life. He is remembered by his former wife, Tanya. He leaves behind his beloved companion, his parrot George. Keith will be remembered fondly by his many cousins, dear friends and coworkers.
He was predeceased by his father, Hayward Forward, with whom he shared a special bond; infant brother, David; as well as by both of his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Cremation has taken place and a committal service will be held in Buchans Community Cemetery on Saturday, June 13th at 1 pm with Major Betty Lou Pollett officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his father.
Keith’s family would like to extend sincere thanks to the ICU medical team at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s for their immediate care and compassion shown to Keith, as well as their support to the family during his final days.
Rest In peace brother thank you for all your hard work with my team. You will be missed.
My condolences to the family.
I met Keith through the taxi industry many years ago.. My late mom Mabel Pender nicknamed him Sweetie Keithie bc he always took the time to have a cup of tea and a chat with her. He was well liked by all.

Very kind gentleman, drove me to work at the hospital during a snowstorm. He talked about his work at the airport, and went out of his way to take the call to bring me to work that day. Seen a post from on YYT Facebook that he had passed, and wanted to make a post to his family, that he was a very genuine person!
