Doris was a fun-loving, energetic, loving wife, mother, aunt, friend, and grandmother to her 2 little honeys. Everyone who knew her knows she loved to have a good time and dance. She will be forever missed by her circle of card playing and country bunch. Leaving behind her husband of 54 years, Lloyd.
Predeceased by her parents, Florence & Insp. Chesley Yetman; her brother Chesley Yetman Jr.; as well as her parents in law Ronald & Charlotte (Lottie) Cook.
Left to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Lloyd; their children Pam Mootrey (Paul), Robert (Aedon Young); grandchildren Grace Mootrey & Alexandria Cook; sisters in law Thelma Yetman & Brenda Cook (Jack); brothers in law David Cook (Marion), Ronald Cook (Helga) & Melvin Cook; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to her dear friend and home care worker Sharon Fennelly, who has provided comfort, care, wit, humor, cold hands, and colorful conversations. As well as the comforting support received from her community health nurses.
Following COVID-19 restrictions, the family will be receiving visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from 2PM-4PM & 7PM-9PM.
A funeral service will take place on Thursday, December 10, from St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Logy Bay Road, at 2:00PM. Mr. Cook, Pam and Robert,
Losing someone you love is difficult but it is especially heart breaking to lose a wife and mother. Mrs. Cook was a beautiful person inside and out. I have such fond memories of her visits to Edmonton. She loved to shop and would go on her own during the day when Pam and I worked. In the evenings she wanted to hit the malls again when we were able to accompany her. Quilts was her favorite store. She treated us so well. Cocktails and delicious meals were waiting for us after our work day. On Fridays she would join us for Happy Hour at a local pub we would frequent for the purposes of ‘Networking’ ???? She was an instant hit with all our friends and co-workers. The saying “To know her was to love her” holds especially true.
Hold on to all the memories as they will provide you with comfort during this difficult time.
Sending love and my deepest condolences
Lee Anne Riley
