Obituary
Passed away suddenly at his residence in Portugal Cove on February 13th age 53 years. He is pre-deceased by his parents Douglas and Rita Tucker (nee Mitchell) and his nephew Matthew. He leaves behind son James and daughter Jessica; two brothers Gerard (Ruby), Cyril (Donna); three sisters Marjorie Somerton (Martin), Cathy and Colleen, nephews and nieces especially Jolene. As well as a large circle of friends and relatives especially uncle Will Mitchell and cousin Wannetta Mitchell. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation.

Although Dougie was a few years older than I was I’ll never forget going to Roncalli with him and hanging out in our teenage years. We had a lot of fun times with Dougie. He was the life of the party & big brother to all of us growing up in the Cove. RIP Dougie My sincere condolences to Dougie’s Family & Friends

Dougie was a familiar face to many of us who grew up or moved to Portugal Cove. We all know that he lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed every day. To all of Dougie’s loved ones, I am so sorry that he is gone. He will be missed. I envision Dougie right now sitting at a beach bar in Florida with Sam having a cold one. It’s a nice place to visit if you let your mind wander. RIP Dougie Tucker

Deepest condolences to the family , such sad news to hear of Doug passing on , he is with his loved ones now in heaven especially his Mother and Father, seems like he was missing them especially , I remember Uncle Doug and Aunt Rita always having their children with them , I admired that because they looked so close. Their home was one of welcome everyone and I guess Dougie missed that now especially in thes days of troubles. Condolences to the family. Been years since I seen Doug , and scattered times in between years before that. But no matter how much time went by there was alway a friendly shutout and a pleasant conversation when I ran into him. As if no time had passed. Rest In Peace Doug.

Although we haven’t seen him in a few years, Craig and I have many great memories of time spent with Dougie. His greatest love was for his children and his greatest memory was of his parents. He wore his heart on his sleeve and was not shy about telling you so. He spoke of them all the time with such love. He will be missed. Our sincerest condolences to his family.
