Obituary
Passed peacefully away in his home in Paradise, aged 81 years.
Predeceased by his wife, Marion Colbert; mother, Bride Colbert; father, James Young; and brothers, Jim and Joseph.
Leaving to mourn with deepest love and sympathy; his daughters, Carol (Glenn), Claudette (David), Marylou (Marshall), and Kimberly (Quincey); sons, Douglas Colbert, and James Colbert; brothers, Cyril and Sandy; grandchildren, Hollie (Duncan), Christopher (Alana), April (Kelley), Natasha, Victoria (Samuel), Karter, Stephen, Melanie (Justin), David (Anette), and Glenn (Michelle); as well as 17 great-grandchildren.
Flowers graciously accepted.
Donations in Douglas’ name may be made to either the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA-NL).
The family will receive visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Thursday, March 23rd from 2 -4 PM and 7 – 9 PM.
Please note that Carnell’s is 100% nut-free due to a severe allergy.

My heart is so heavy…. I loved u so much poppy u were my everything growing up. I will remember our good times together. Last time I was home I knew in my heart it would be the last time I seen you in person and o gave u an extra big hugs before I left . Although I wish I could be there I know you would tell me to stay safe here with Duncan and the puppies thank you for a life time of love and prayers as u prayed for me daily I know. Poppy your hollie mossie bellie loves Ito god and back and I’m greatful to have been able to have u for 38 year of my life u wacthed me grow up u seen me get married build a career a home and i knew u were so proud of me even if iu wished I did al that in nfld 🙂 I take great comfort knowing your at peace with nanny god bless ure soul poppy until we meet again ❤️ love me Duncan vimy and Dasiy
