The Mount Pearl Lions extend condolences to the family members, and express gratitude for the lives of your parents. They genuinely cared about others in a sacrificial way.
The Lions’ motto is: “We Serve”. Viv and Gwen lived that motto in all aspects of their lives and many people benefitted because of their generous hearts.
It was such a pleasure to be in their presence, and to work together with them both.
Sincerely,
President Claudette and members of the Mount Pearl Lions Club.

To Fred and Cindy and your families:
We extend our heartfelt sympathy to each of you. We treasured our time with Vivian and Gwen and again mourn the loss, as Gwen is now at peace.
We are sorry, but know that it is necessary to pass through sorrow to reach their heavenly reward. Their faith gave them the hope of meeting again and spending eternity together with their Saviour. The joy they shared on earth, gives us a glimpse of their eternal joy.

With so many loving memories of your Mom & Dad, and with our prayers for God’s comfort and blessings on each of you. Claudette & Gerald

Saddened to learn of the passing of Gwen and herewith offer my profound condolences..
Shortly after my wife and I were married in 1951, we rented the top flat of Vivian and Gwen’s Flower Hill home for a few years and became very good friends during that time.
Please be assured that my thoughts and prayers are with the family today. May the good Lord bless you all and provide comfort in this your time of great sorrow.

R I P Beautiful Lady! Many great memories

Fred, Sandy, Cindy and Family. Peggy and I offer our sincerest condolences to you. Circumstances preclude visitation and attendance at this time. Gwen had a good life and reached a good age. We are comforted in the knowledge that she is now in a nicer place. Our thoughts and prayers are of you who remain. Sincerely Peggy and Ernie Reid

My son, Crewe and I were neighbours of Mr. & Mrs. Marshall on Pasadena Crescent. Crewe was just 2 to 5 years old at the time, but he would refer to Mr. & Mrs. Marshall and Mr. & Mrs. Randall as his friends. They were always so kind to us and went out of their way to make Crewe feel special. One day, while I was showering, Crewe disappeared. In a panic, I took off to find him. He was sitting comfortably with the Marshalls, having a chat! They assured me he was fine and that he was welcome to stay.
Crewe (now an adult!) and I extend our sincerest condolences to the family. I hope your wonderful memories will bring you comfort.

Fred,
So sorry to hear of the passing of your dear mother.
Please know that we are keeping you and Sandy and all the family in our thoughts and prayers.
With deepest sympathy,

Dear Fred, Cindy, and family,
I am sad to hear about your Mom. She and your Dad were always so warm and welcoming. I have fond memories of Lethbridge and Terra Nova Park, and of potatoes and kettles. They were wonderful friends to my parents for 50+ years.
I am also grateful that you both were able to be present for my own mother’s funeral last summer when I couldn’t attend due to travel restrictions. Thank you, Fred for officiating, and thank you Cindy for the reading..

Fred, Sandy, Cindy and families,
Mrs Marshall has been an integral part of the Murphy / Jardine lives for nearly 50 years. She has been there for births, deaths, weddings, graduations, picnics, and any and all special days of the year.
