So sorry to hear of Monty’s passing . He was a friend of the family growing up in Grand Falls. and a great Frat brother of mine. Condolences to his family .
Monty was a good friend of mine through our years together at GFA. We played hockey and other sports plus socialized with a cadre of other ‘buddies’. He was a team player in all aspects of life. My deepest condolences to all his family members.
I am so sorry to hear about Monty’s passing and send my sincere condolences to his family. Monty hired me in the Department of Human Resources at Memorial University back in 1994, and it was a pleasure to work with him. He is one of my favourite memories of my time there. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

He was considerate and kind-hearted, cheerful and generous. we have so many wonderful and fond memories working alongside of him in Department of Human Resources at Mun.. One particularly stands to mind was his common expression after a job well done “you will be mentioned in the Dispatches”— Our thoughts are with his family today as we extend our deepest sympathies to all of you.

Hi Geri and family, I was so sorry to hear of your father’s death. It has been an awful couple of years for you all. Bill and I really liked your dad.. I have fond memories of him and your mom visiting us on Burns place on Christmas Eve and him teasing me about using a recipe to make turkey stuffing. My thoughts are with you and your family.Love great aunt Gerry.
Monty moved smoothly and gracefully through life, in the skating style he carried over from his Grand Falls days as a star hockey player.
And in his gentle, friendly manner where hie could be a brother to all, he constantly served to sand rough edges from those in need of such treatment.
Monty was the boyish Peter Pan who never aged, always quick to settle into conversations of our magic times in neverland.
Deepest sympathy to Mr. Green’s family and friends. I met him when I worked at Memorial in the 80’s in the Registrars Office. My Dad, Millar Ewing always spoke highly of Monty and they were colleagues working together on many issues and contracts.
I was sad to hear of Monty’s passing I spoke to him a lot after Snowy died and his wife Joni died. He always had a story to tell and spoke of his daughter and grandchildren with so much pride and love. RIP, Monty.
Another fellow GFA student has left us but will remain in our thoughts. My Time knowing Monty dates back to the 1950s at GFA. He played for GFA hockey team and always gave his all and from reading other memories he did the same in his lifetime. I left home in 1957 and lost track of him but always remembered him.
RIP Monty
Monty was a kind and gentle man. Regretfully, we lost touch in recent years but have many fond memories of times spent in his company many years ago. Our deepest condolences to Geri, Neil and all the family.
sorry for your loss
My sincere condolences to the extended Green Family. I knew Monty for many years at Memorial University where he and I sat on different sides of the aisle as we negotiated collective agreements and settled labour disputes.
I will always remember him as a very compassionate individual who listened more than he spoke. Rather than wanting to be right Monty had a propensity of wanting to do the right thing. I had a great respect for his willingness to compromise and his professionalism. Aside from his work he always spoke so fondly of his wife and family. A very good man who will be missed. Rest in peace Monty.
Brian

Offering my deepest sympathies to Monty’s family and friends. We had a close working relationship for many of his years at MUN. We collaborated on his persistent and perennial efforts in foreign recruitment there. I fondly recall there was generally an attempt on his part to inject a little levity into an otherwise stressful situation. Indeed Monty ” You will be mentioned in dispatches “..
