Passed away suddenly at the age of 69 on February 8, 2023.  Predeceased by his loving wife Edith Ash (nee Tucker), parents Edward and Alice Ash, partner Marg Sutton, mother-in-law Edith Tucker. 

Left heartbroken but with loving and fond memories his children Edward (Krista Pope), Johnny Tucker (Kim), Samantha (Christopher Hurley), and Curtis; beloved grandchildren Edward and Emily Ash, Ella Tucker, and Sarah and Benjamin Hurley.  Ed will also be missed by his sisters Linda, Patricia (Chris), Angeline, Lorraine (Bill), and Regina (Michael); good friends Judith Hurley, Marg Oliver, Glenn Moss, as well as Harvey Hann and his work family at Hann Construction, and a large circle of extended family and friends.

Cremation has taken place.  The family will receive visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Sunday, February 12 and Monday, February 13 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  Funeral service will be held from St. Philip’s Anglican Church on Thursday, February 16 at 11 a.m.

Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations in Ed’s memory may be made to the CNIB.

Deepest condolences to the Ash family from Terry and Regina. Ed was a sweet and kind man taken too soon.

It was a shock to hear of our cousin Ed’s passing. Like Judy stated, the memories of summer time at the old homestead picking blueberries is a very fond memory that will be cherished forever. We send our heartfelt condolences to all of you, and our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Samantha and family, I’m so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. Just hold onto the good memories and know how much he loved you.

Deepest condolences to Ed’s family. I had the privilege of meeting Ed while doing work for Hann’s Construction. We got to share many chats, and laughs over the years. He was one of the kindest, and most hard working people I have ever met. Rest easy my friend.

, especially during blueberry season. Us kids had lots of fun during thoes summer visits. Lots of blueberry pies and jam. My parents Aunt Milley uncle Ed and my Brothers Ed Randy Dan and myself Judy. .Our deepest sympathies to you all.

Thinking of all the family, got to know Ed thru marg his partner my mother in law over the past few years, stayed at his house many times when I came back to Newfoundland he would go get us at the airport,our daughter hannah really liked u teaching her darts at the house ,u will be greatly missed by us soar high with the angels ,

Eddie was like an uncle to me, one of my dads best friends in life, he was at my wedding , I have found memories of mom and dad up late playing cards with him and your mom .till late at night He and my dad Glen Moss were work buddies at coke and stayed close long after .they were the kind of friends who didn’t talk everyday but would always pick up right where they left off when they met up,. Eddie was a great man I was blessed to have had him in my life. My parents were blessed to have a life long friend like him who they adored.

Since meeting Marg (Sutton) some years ago, Ed had become a friend to all of us and we are so pleased that we had the opportunity of meeting & knowing him and experienceing first-hand his constant pleasant, caring and helpful manner..

This is just so sad and unbelievable this has happened.
Ed would do everything he could for everyone and
was such a great guy and I have many fond memories of him and Edith.
We had a lot of good times together especially when we went to the Hann Construction weekend getaways and parties.
He will be surely missed by all his family and friends.
So sorry I cannot attend the Funeral as I am out of the country.

There are no words to convey how terrible this loss is. It will take time to get through the shock of it.
Ed has been around for as long as I can remember. Had the biggest heart and would always lend a hand where and when ever it was needed. Whenever he use to come by the house, he would always give the animals love, I use to think it was the sweetest thing. It use to make me smile every time. Hann Construction will not be the same without him.
My heart goes out to the Ash family and I hope your happy memories will help you through this difficult time.
