Passed away one week shy of her 94th birthday on September 23rd. From Bell Island, Eleanor was the last sibling of the Case family (George & Effie). Predeceased by husband Robert Rodgers of Old Perlican, sisters Geraldine Case, Elaine Durdle, and brothers Clive and Edgar Case. Leaving to mourn are her stepdaughters Lorraine (Ronald) Robbins, Linda (Bert) Butt and their families, nieces Jill (Gus) Butler, Dianne Walsh, nephews Edgar Durdle, and Keith (Eva) Durdle and families. Eleanor was a teacher for 36 years and spent the last 18 years of her career at John Hoskins Elementary in Old Perlican. To this day many of her students remember her fondly. For the last 7 years of her life Eleanor resided at North Pond Manor in Torbay, where she was treated with the utmost respect and kindness. As per her request, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at the United Church Cemetery in Old Perlican on Saturday, September 28th at 2 p.m.

“Miss Case” was my Grade IV teacher at Jackson Memorial School on Bell Island. She was such a marvellous teacher in every way that I only have wonderful memories of her.. (I could write a book.) She was my inspiration to become a teacher, encouraging me in any way that she could.
She has certainly had a life well lived!
