To the Hammond family.

We were very surprised and saddened to learn of Betty’s illness and passing. She was someone who became a good friend to our mother Sadie, in recent years, through their interactions at St. Thomas’ church. She was a very engaging and pleasant lady, and our hearts are heavy today for your loss. May she rest in peace.

Betty and I worked together in Clinical Offices at the HSC. When I started to work there, Betty took me under her wing, as she did with all new secretaries.. Many wedding and baby showers were hosted by your mom.
Thankfully, many of us got together for lunch before Covid struck and we had a wonderful chat.
Kim, your mom was so proud of you, Todd and Ben.
Thinking of you all at this very difficult time.

I am so shocked and saddened by this news. Betty and I kept in touch though we couldn’t meet for Archives Committee because of Covid.. I saved my jigsaw puzzles for her and she always came with a cake for me at Christmas., She was a truly good friend and a good person always concerned for her family and others but never about herself.. I can’t tell you how much I will miss her. My sincere sympathy to her family.
