Obituary
Passed peacefully away on Monday, August 17,2026, Erika Koster after a lengthy battle with breast cancer, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt.
Predeceased by her husband, Erwin (Jim) Koster, and her granddaughter, Kristine Cadigan.
Leaving to mourn with loving memories are her daughter Diana (Gerry) Cadigan; son Terry Koster (Lisa); granddaughter Erin (Dave) Petruska; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Kasey and Jack Petruska.
Also leaving to mourn is her sister Ilse Rachow, and family in Hamburg, Germany, along with other relatives and friends.
Special thanks to the cancer treatment team at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic, the Community Health Nurses and the Palliative Care Services who provided mom with care and compassion.
Cremation has taken place.
The family will receive visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St. John’s, NL on Thursday, August 20th from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Erika’s memory may be made to Cancer Care Foundation Newfoundland and Labrador.

So sorry for your loss. I fondly remember both Mr. And Mrs Koster from our time spent at Trinity Lutheran Church many years ago. She was a kind, lovely woman and I know she will be deeply missed
