Passed peacefully away at Pearl House Retirement Home on December 9th, 2025, at the age of 69, Rick Rose
Predeceased by wife Roxanne Rose; father, Aloysius Rose; brother Terry Rose; mother in law, Jean Budgell; brother in law, Brian Murphy.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories daughter Lynsey Rose; mother Mary Rose; sister Cathy Martin ( Paul ); two brothers: Derek Rose ( Arlene) and Stephen Rose; six sisters in law: Patricia Rose, Glennys Delaney, Elaine Budgell (Gerald), Bev Lieverse ( John), Betty Murphy (Woody) and Miranda Budgell; brother in law Bill Budgell; father in law Bert Delaney; also a large number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles & other family & friends.
Special thank you to the staff and residents of Pearl House Retirement Home who became a part of Rick’s extended family during the short time he was living there, along with his roommate & friend Stan Pierce who was like another brother to him.
Visitation will take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Thursday, December 11th, 2025, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
A celebration of life will be held at the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Friday, December 12th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road.
In lieu of flowers donations in Rick’s name can be made to the Vera Perlin Society at 40 O’Leary Avenue, St John’s, NL A1E 3Y3.

My condolence on Rick’s passing. He comes to mind whenever my shoulder hurts in cold wet weather. Playing against each other I had him all lined up but he ducked at the very last second. I went over his back, head first into the boards; Separated shoulder. Oh well; all’s fair in Love, war and Juvenile hockey. Other than that, he was a great guy.
I was also very sorry about Al’s passing. He’d been gone a few weeks before I heard. A wonderful human being.
