George Foley

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Foley, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. George passed away on December 10, 2024, at the age of 74, surrounded by his loved ones.

Predeceased by his parents Michael and Mildred Foley

Born on March 4, 1950, George lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to his family. He was the cherished husband of Bridget (Pink) Foley for 54 years, and together they built a strong, enduring partnership. George was the proud father of Donna, Michael (Nancy), and Georgie (Darlene), and a devoted grandfather to Brenden, Erin, Emma, Kevin, and Kaylee. His love and joy were multiplied when he became a great-grandfather to Ella and Karson.

George will be greatly missed by his sisters and their families, as well as his two special nieces, Melissa and Jessica, who held a special place in his heart. He also leaves behind many other family members and friends who were blessed by his presence.

Throughout his life, George exemplified kindness, loyalty, and strength. He was a man who always put others first, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be remembered for his sense of humour, funny sarcasm and his unwavering love for his family.

The family will be accepting visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home at 329 Freshwater Road, on Friday, December 13 from 10 am–8 pm. A funeral service will be held at the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Saturday, December 14 at 11 am.

With steady hands and a heart of steel,
He worked with skill that time would reveal.
A mechanic by trade, but so much more,
A lover of engines, forever wanting more.

The joy of a classic, old but proud.
Through every turn and every spark,
He brought life back to the machines in the dark.
His passion for cars, timeless and true,
A bond that many could never outdo.
Under the hood, his soul would be,
In every engine’s melody, wild and free.
Though his tools are now put away,
The legacy he built will forever stay.
In every car, on every road,
His spirit rides, a memory to behold.

George’s legacy of love and devotion will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be forever in our hearts.
