Gilbert John Kielley

December 10, 1947 to August 23, 2020

Obituary

Predeceased by his parents, Gilbert Sr./Kathleen Kielley and his son Todd Kielley.  Leaving to mourn his partner Leona Dube, son Chris Kielley & his mother, Roseanne Kielley, granddaughter Grace Kielley & her mother, Leslie Kielley, sister, Barbara Jamieson & family, and many dear friends near and far.  Gil (Skipper), was a truly passionate personality who touched so many of us all in his own special way.  His remarkable love of family and friends rewarded him with unbreakable bonds.  Gil’s tenacity combined with his strong will to fight for what is right allowed him to live a fulfilling life beyond all expectations.  Although Gil’s battle with health issues started 31 years ago, he continued to fight relentlessly and lived his 72 years to its fullest.  We will all miss him dearly.  Thankfully his love of music and of relationships walk hand in hand, where a simple song on the radio can whisk any of us back to a fond memory of Gil and the good times we shared together.  In lieu of flowers please donate to your local SPCA.

Rest in Peace bud.

My best friend and my most distant acquaintance;

My nemesis and my hero all in one day and for a lifetime…..

He has defied all reason of logic,

laughing at the reaper…..

Giving the world to those that can see his heart that is bigger than the universe,

but yet hidden in plain sight….

Even in his shy moments,

he is tougher than a tiger backed into a corner…..

He has taught me love and respect for all, and today I wish him peace and everlasting love.

Godspeed Skipper, CFK

Chris, I never met your dad, but I can tell how wonderful he must have been just by knowing you. We reflect the best parts of our parents thanks to the loving way they raised us. Take comfort in your memories as you grieve.

I first met Gill in the mid 80’s at the Carriage Works. It took me little time to know i adored him. He had fun stories, great love and knowledge of music, he often always had a laugh about things. Gill was a very kind and generous man. He made sure he brought many treats, like bottled rabbit and the like, to our mutual friend who was in dire straights. I am sure he is now w some of his passed family and friends on the other side. Here’s to the voyage Gill. You are missed by all.

My deepest sympathies go out to you and your family. May God give you the peace that you seek.
