Gladys Caroline White

Obituary

With heavy hearts we regret to announce the sudden passing of our dear mother, grandmother & friend, Gladys White on Sept. 21/2025.

Predeceased by her mother and father, Alice & Samuel Whyte of South East Bight. Her sister Clara, precious grandson Greyson, her beloved daughter Sherri Lynn (Sal), long-time friend Sheila Evans as well as other relatives & close friends.

She leaves to mourn her daughter Candice & her granddaughters Laci & Ryleigh whom she adored.

Her daughters father Ian Hobbs, her grandchildren’s father Ryan Hanames. Christa Knight who was like another daughter. Her sisters Hannah, Blanche, Stella & her brother Sam. She also leaves her dearest friend Lorraine Holden, that we could never thank enough for her friendship & what she meant to Gladys. Her very special friend Ed Oakley whom she loved so much as well as other family & friends.

Gladys loved her family more than anything & would move heaven & earth for them if she could. She was known for her love of singing & dancing. If you couldn’t find her out having a dance then you could find her in the kitchen baking or with a fishing pole in hand doing what she loved best.

Public Visitation will take place from Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Monday, September 29th, 2025 from 10:00AM-9:00PM.

Father Wayne Dohey will conduct the Funeral Service from The Carnell Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, September 30th, 2025 at 11:00AM. Interment to take place at a later date.

Mom, you’re now in the only place you want to be, back with Sherri.

… I guess that means no more homemade bread?

Sorry for all the jokes this week, Mom but I’m funny & it’s how we cope.

We love you & will miss you always.
