Obituary
It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Glen Taylor from Paradise, NL.
He is predeceased by his parents David & Priscilla (Hunt); Sister in law Kathleen Taylor; Father in law Anthony Hann; Great nephew Maverick Collins.
Glen will be forever loved & deeply missed by his devoted wife & best friend of 32 years, Charlotte; his beloved stepdaughter Jessica (Andrew Pike), his cherished grandson Cooper Glen; Siblings: his nurturing sister Cindy, whom he looked up to as a second mom (Sing Au); David (Jessica); Karen (Peter Collins); Nephew Shane Taylor who grew up together sharing a bond that was truly that of a brother; Mother in law Mary Hann who stayed faithfully by his side until the end. He will also be lovingly remembered by his Nieces: Courtney & Cindy; Nephews: David, Steven, Peter & families; Brother in law Trevor Hann & many extended family members & friends; missing him as well, his furry friend Toby who brought Glen comfort & companionship.
Glen fought a private & lengthy battle against cancer but it never defeated his spirit. He faced it the same way he lived – with strength, courage, resilience & an unwavering hope.
As a committed family man, a loving husband & friend, Glen loved in ways that words never could. Not with grand gestures but with his presence, patience, sacrifice & a kind & gentle heart that can never be matched. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, without expecting anything in return.
Glen shared a love of the outdoors with his wife & they went on many hiking & running adventures together. He was a long time participant in the Tely 10, completed half marathons, ran the Cape to Cabot 20K road race & hiked around the province. Throughout his illness, with his wife by his side, he continued to hike & run – a true testament to Glen’s spirit of perseverance & strength.
Glen was a dedicated & proud stepfather to Jessica. A true dad in every sense of the word, he embraced the role from day one – offering steady guidance, wisdom & unconditional love. Her kind heart is a testament to his love. The day that Glen received the news he was going to be a Poppy, there were no words that could measure the immense pride he carried. He got to meet his grandson & that bond they shared will live on forever. Glen wove a unique thread of love & loyalty into the lives of all his family members.
As a man of many talents, Glen could literally fix or build everything & if he didn’t know how, he’d figure it out before the day was over. He was incredibly hardworking & dedicated 30+ years in the automotive industry – a job he was passionate about. He valued every relationship he made over the years. Glen found the greatest comfort in the simple pleasures of life – a good coffee, the chirping of birds, sunrises, sunsets & the company of those he loved.
Glen was truly a fountain of goodness in our lives. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, compassion & perseverance that lives on in all who knew & loved him.
In his honour, donations can be made to the Cancer Centre or an animal shelter.
A special thank you to the staff at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre & 7 East St Clare’s for your care & kindness.
Cremation has taken place & a celebration of life will take place at a later date.

We will always remember him so fondly for his easygoing nature, his friendliness and sense of humour, and the selfless way in which he never hesitated to help others. He was always so easy to chat to and have a laugh with at family get-togethers, and we will always be in awe of the marathons he accomplished, especially in the face of the challenges life threw his way. He was rightly adored by everyone who knew him, and his loss — one that is far too soon — will be sorely felt by all of us.
Despite his short years, it’s clear Glen made such an impact on those around him and that he lived life to its fullest. May this, and a lifetime of cherished memories of Glen, comfort his loved ones when needed most.

My brother, there’s not enough words to describe the impact you left on all your family and friends. Your unwavering love, is something that can’t be described or put into words. A devoted husband, stepdad, brother, uncle, friend, colleague but it will never be enough. Glen, and as it is written, you’re weren’t one in a million, you were (ARE) once in a lifetime. Until we meet again my brother, know that you’ve left memories that will be cherished forever and may we all have a little bit of you in us❤️

I have many fond memories of working with Glen at NAPA. Always a great colleague, with a sharp wit that had me in stitches often. Some of his quick-witted phrases still stick with me 20 years later. Had some fun times trouting with Glen as well. So sorry for your loss. Rest in peace Glen.
A very true friend and Co-worker for the past 30 years! Had many work trips and a couple of skidoo trips together! Very many fond memories!

Charlotte as you know myself and Glen went from K to 12 together , I don’t recall us ever fighting much but we certainly could get in trouble together!
I remember the summers of grade 8 and 9 we would riding around Dunville on 10 speed bikes with saddle bags on them, looked innocent enough but usually they were filled with beer. We had a system when the beer truck was parked either by our store or up the road one of us would be look out while we helped ourselves to free beer, maybe I shouldn’t be telling this story!
A few years back he knew I I was going to replace my floor with hardwood , Saturday morning he just showed up and stayed the whole day. He wouldn’t take 5 cents as payment. That was the kind of fella he was and am proud to have as a friend..
I was always so jealous of his mollett, his would grow long and mine would just get thicker and thicker !
It has been my experience after the tears dry you can enjoy the memories of happier times and even laugh at a few. Hang in there! He certainly loved you!

One of the best, gone way too soon. I became friends with Glen in the early 90’s, when I first worked with UAP. I am so sorry to learn of his passing.

He was built different. Always lending a helping hand, Nothing too much trouble. One of a kind. We were all lucky enough to have him for the time we did. Truly a special person. Glen will be missed and cherished.
When I first met Glen he was a child of maybe 5 years old. I watched him grow into an incredible man brother inlaw and friend. He was always there to help out with his many talents. He attacked every challenge with passion and perfection. He was taken from us way too soon and will be so missed by so many: love you buddy. Until we meet again rest easy.
