Obituary
It is with deep sadness that the family of the late Glenda Gail Stanley announces her passing. Glenda passed away from the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s, NL on Wednesday, January 21st, 2026 at the age of 60 years.
Left with a lifetime of wonderful memories is her sister and best friend – Kim; nephew – Nick (Catherine); niece – Alison (Phillip) and great nephew – Viktor; special friends – Ann Marie, Colleen, Bill and Donna; special aunts – Jessie and Carolyn as well as her family at Costco where she was employed for 28 years.
The Stanley family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of the CVICU and Special Care Unit at the Health Sciences Centre for their kindness and compassion.
Public Visitation will take place from Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St. John’s, NL on Sunday, January 25th, 2026 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm -9:00 pm.
Funeral Service will take place from St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Goulds, NL on Monday, January 26th, 2026 at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow from St. Matthew’s Anglican Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Glenda’s memory to St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Goulds, NL.

Kim, Nick and Allison no works can take away the hurt, pain and grief you feel at this time. Time will help and hopefully one day you can think of Glenda with lots of laughs and smiles!
Kim, you were her right or die, her sister and best friend. My heart truly hurts for you my friend. We came to know each other under the craziest circumstances but I truly feel we are put on this path in life for a reason.

(May you rest in peace Glenda.) Working beside Glenda for many years is an understatement of how a co-worker became a friend and then FAMILY. We have laughed and cried together over many happenings in our lives. From the baby showers, jewelry parties , Admin Christmas parties and the occasional office buddy dinners you would be the first one to arrive and the last one to leave. Treasured memories that I will hold dear.

I worked alongside Glenda for the 28 years she was employed at Costco. She spoke often of her sister Kim as well as her Niece and Nephew and her great nephew. She loved you all very much. Glenda cherished her friendships that she developed with her fellow employees and she will be greatly missed.
Glenda, you were such a sweet woman, you always had the cutest glasses, and were always yourself! You were always happy go lucky and it was a pleasure to work with you and have little chats with you. Sending my love and strength to all your family and friends, you will be missed by many.

If there were words or an expression to say to you to help ease your pain, grief, and broken hearts, I definitely would say them to help get you through this most difficult time in your lives. Glenda was a great person when we were in school, and a great, kindhearted person when we met again after high school. I will always remember her beautiful smile, & twinkle in her eyes. Wherever a Beautiful Soul has been, there is a trail of Beautiful Memories we will always have when we think of Glenda. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers.
