Obituary
Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, February 8th, 2021 at the Palliative Care Unit, L. A. Miler Centre, Grace Julia Mitchell (Hussey), at the age of 101 years.
Predeceased by parents Azariah and Julia Hussey, husband Edmund, baby daughter Julia, Son Stewart, Son in Law Leo, Stepson Joe, siblings Fred (twin brother), Harold, William, Art, John, Wallace, Lloyd, Henrietta, Kate and Drucella.
Leaving to mourn Daughter Pauline Hynes (Leo Deceased), Son Wallace (Joyce), Daughter in Law Barbara Mitchell, Stepdaughter in Law Lena Wade, 10 grandchildren: Joe, Adrian, Karen, Leona, Shawn, Carl, Craig Lisa, Wally and Ryan; 16 Great Grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; Numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A Special thank you to Karen and Joe for ensuring she wasn’t alone during her final days, Lolly Noseworthy and her staff at North Pond Manor where she had resided for the last 5 and a half years and the wonderful staff at the palliative care center for your exceptional care during her stay. You truly are angels.
Special thank you to Rev. Canon Amanda Taylor for her visits to “Mom” at North Pond Manor and at the Palliative Care Unit.
A private funeral service will take place on Thursday, February 11th, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. from St Lawrence Anglican Church, Portugal Cove/St. Philip’s. Interment to follow at St. Lawrence Anglican Cemetery, Bauline Line Ext.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Lawrence Anglican Church, Portugal Cove/St. Philip’s.

Aunt Grace was a kind beautiful person and I loved her very much. She enjoyed life and had a special patter that could put you in stitches. Stewart used to tease her about chasing the boys at the Legion dances and she had some come backers that would make you laugh. Rest in peace Aunt Grace and I will carry you in my heart until I pass.

Grace was a great lady, and best friend to my Mom & Dad., and to our family. She had a wonderful way of looking at the world and telling it like it was. She could always make you laugh, and we had some great laughs and fun times together. She always had time for you.
She lived a wonderful life. Cherish all the wonderful memories you have of her, and celebrate that you were so lucky that she was part of your life.

February 11, 2021 I just learned of Aunt Grace’s passing and I am so saddened to know we lost this lively spirit. My condolences to Wally & Pauline and all of Aunt Grace’s extended family. Sharon & I are so pleased we had the opportunity to visit with her in 2016 and rue COVID-19 for denying us another chance to have visited.
I never got to meet my great Aunt Grace, but if she was anything like my Grandad (her brother Art), I know she must have been a wonderful woman. Sending our sympathy and best wishes to you all.
