Sorry to hear of Harry’s passing.I remember his voice in the choir on Bell Island. My father was the priest on the island who has also passed away. May it comfort you by thinking of the long enjoyable life you had with him . Derek and Jean Smith. St. Philips

We would like to pass along our condolence’s on the passing of Harry senior. I remember how much he loved mom’s potato salad and would ask for it specifically in his church cold plate….Take care and God bless

I am sorry to learn from Neil Kellett of the passing of Harry. Back in the summer of 1989 I was a member of General Synod from the Diocese of Niagara. Synod was in St. John’s. Our Diocese’s members travelled to Portugal Cove to visit with people from the St. Lawrence parish (I still use the seat cushion I was given by the parish!!). I stayed with Harry and Dolly and enjoyed the most warm hospitality. What a lovely couple. My condolences are extended to Dolly, and members of Harry’s family.

To the French Family,
We’re so sorry to hear of Harry’s passing, but it is good to know he no longer suffers. We have many fond memories of our time spent with him and Florrie in their snug Portugal Cove home. Still we can hear his saying, “Keep ‘er straight on the curves,” or, “Right turn, Clyde!” or, “It’s not too bad, just one bad,” and ending every phone call with us by saying, “God Bless.” His strong singing voice stood out well during congregational singing at church. His stories of raising his family both on Bell Island and in Portugal Cove as well as his tales of the Bell Island Iron Mines were fascinating. We will miss him and now say, “God Bless,” to you all.

Florrie, Susan, Harry and family,

We are very sorry to hear of Harry’s death. A powerful voice has been stilled. May the promises of our faith that death is but a door to a newer and more glorious life in the unveiled presence of God be your support at this time.

To you Harry and all your family. Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your Father. I had the privilege of knowing your father, mother and your family quite some time ago while doing some interior drywall finishing in your first new house and your Dad’s as well. He was a character for sure, but also a Church man, a man of faith..and obviously, you follow in his footsteps. I only wish that I could be among you to celebrate his life..but that’s just not in the cards for me yet. I pray that you and your family will find solace in knowing that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is by your side every step of the way as you go through the days, weeks, and months ahead. ” May he continue to Bless you all richly “

Mrs. French and family. May the treasured memories stored in your hearts help ease your sorrow and in that way he will always be with you. My condolences to you and your family.
