Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Helen Louise Harbin at the age of 85. Helen passed peacefully away at Lakeside Nursing Home, Gander.
She leaves behind three sons William Jr. (Ingrid), Wilfred (Heather), Stephen (Wanda); two daughters Rae Burry (Terry), Elizabeth Moores (Andrew); one sister, Anita Jeans, Ottawa; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Predeceased by mother Mary Best and husband William.
A special thank you to the staff at Lakeside Nursing Home in Gander for the exceptional care and compassion.
Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Monday, September 16 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Salvation Army Citadel, Adams Avenue on Tuesday, September 17 at 2 p.m., with interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Every time I think of her, I see her in your kitchen on Terra Nova Road, in the kitchen with her apron on, working away. She raised all of you to be beautiful, kind people like she was. Hold onto your wonderful memories of her! I’m praying for you all. I know just how very difficult the days ahead will be, but I pray God will wrap you in His arms and give you the strength you need to get through. So sorry to hear of Aunt Helens passing, I have so many wonderful memories of our visits when we went with Mom!! Myself and Ted spent many weekends with both of them, shopping at the Avalon Mall, Oh My!! She was such a beautiful lady!!
So very sorry to hear of Aunt Helen’s passing. She was a a wonderful woman with a heart of gold and always a welcoming hug and chuckle for me. She opened her doors to welcome us always with a cup of tea, a place to sleep leaving us with happy childhood memories of great times with our cousins and Aunt and Uncle.
