Passed peacefully away on June 15th, 2017, Hunter Raymond Gruchy, aged 88 years. Predeceased by his loving wife Irene Gruchy (nee Easterbrook); parents Annie Fowler and Alec C. Gruchy; stepmothers Ida Lush and Hilda Pardy; sisters Olive (Will) Ryan, Eleanor (Cecil) Sullivan, Phyllis (Jack) Hebbard, and Geraldine (Herbert) Bragg; and brothers Lex (Jean) Gruchy, and Gus (Doris) Gruchy. Leaving to mourn sons Raymond Gruchy, and Bud (Linda) Gruchy; daughter Susan Gruchy; grandchildren Janice Gruchy (Steve Cohen), Steven (Jeanette) Gruchy, and Mark (Leah) Gruchy, great-grandchildren Claire and Maggie Gruchy, and Ella Cohen; two very special friends Andy and Diane Strugnell; as well as many nieces, nephews, and a large circle of family and friends. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the palliative care unit at the L. A. Miller Centre for all of their care and support. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Monday, June 19th, 2017 from 2 – 4 p.m, and 7 – 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 20th, 2017 at 2 p.m in the Carnell Memorial Chapel, with inurnment to follow in the All Saints Anglican Cemetery, Pouch Cove. Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations may be made to the SPCA.

Bud, Linda, Mark and all the Gruchy Family
We were sorry to hear of Hunter’s passing, he is at peace now. Remember many fun games of cards with him and Irene over the years especially when Bud was recovering from his traumatic illness. We send our sincerest condolences to all of you.
