Obituary
Ian Kirby passed peacefully away unexpectedly after a short illness.
He was pre-deceased by his parents Bill and Cathie Kirby, his twin sister Catherine and his infant grandson Devon. He leaves to mourn his devoted wife Bernadette (nee Colbert), his beloved daughters Beth (Jason Hobbs) and Ashley (Patrick Dwyer), his son Mark and his sister Heather Duggan (Alan Cook) and Maureen Vokey, friend and mother of his children. He leaves his four grandchildren who were the light of his life and his reason for living. He was Pop-Pop to Isla Hobbs, Devany Kirby, Riley and Gioia Dwyer who will miss his large and lively presence in their lives.
He also leaves nieces Kathleen Kelly (Norm), Kirby LeGrow (Colin), Tammy Adams (Richard Rowe) and nephew Billy Adams (Marcina Rodrigues) as well as his sisters-in-law Kay Butler (Les, deceased), Eileen (Tom Devine), brothers in law Fred Colbert (Helen) and Kevin Colbert. Also his Uncle Max Kirby and his wife Phyllis.
As were Ian’s wishes, there will be no service to commemorate his life. As in his life, he liked to keep things simple with no fuss. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Carnell’s Funeral Home. If so desired, donations in Ian’s memory may be made to The Salvation Army or The Gathering Place.
