Obituary

Passed peacefully away on Monday, October 12, 2020 at the Palliative Care Unit, Dr. L. A. Miller Centre, Irving Dennis Butt, age 69 years.  Predeceased by parents Lionel and Marie Butt, infant sister Myra, brother Ralph, wife Linda (Comerford) and parents-in-law Edward and Marion Comerford.  Leaving to mourn devoted partner, Janet Hicks and her children Rhonda, Trevor and Anitra and their families who were by his side.  Left with loving memories are his sister Madonna Martin (Ross), sister-in-law Marie Butt, members of the Hicks and Comerford families and a wide circle of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.  The family would like to thank the staff of the H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre and the Palliative Care Unit.  At Irving’s request, cremation has taken place.  There will be no visitation.  A service to celebrate Irving’s life will take place from the Carnell Memorial Chapel, 329 Freshwater Road on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 2:00 pm.  Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.  No flowers by request.  Donations in his memory may be made to the ALS Society.

So sorry to hear about Uncle Irv’s passing. I have so many memories at Nan’s house too over the years. Rest in peace Irv. Condolences to all the family.

So sorry to hear of your loss. We only knew Irving a short time but he was such a sweet and dear man. We know this will be a very hard time but our thoughts and hearts are with all of you at this sad time.

to hear of Irvings passing yesterday. We started work together with Jack Green LTD in 1974 and did so right up to his retirement. Mild mannered and strong as an ox who did things his way is how i remember him. Condolences to all his family.

So sorry to hear of Uncle Irv”s passing . I always had fond memories of visiting with him at Nan”s house. He was always the quiet type but when he spoke i listened. To Janet and family may God comfort you at this most difficult time.

To Irv’s family my deepest condolences. He was a great friend to my parents and a truly genuine good hearted man. You will surely be missed Irv.

Sorry to hear of your loss.. I worked with Irving for many years . A very loving and encouraging man. My wife and I will remember all the family members in our thoughts and prayers. May the lord be your comfort and peace in this very difficult time.

My dear friend , you were the brother I never had .Our friendship goes back many years and now we have a broken chain Irving. We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name . In life we loved you dearly in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you ,you did not go alone. ,for parts of us went with you. you left us precious memories ,your love is still our guide .and though we cannot see you. you are always beside our side. Our chain is broken and nothing seem the same.. But As God calls us one by one the chain will be link again. R.I.P our dear friend
