I just heard; Jackie died. She was fun. I’m glad I met her.

Enid and Cyril OBrien

great fun soul…..

My heart goes out to you today, Doreen, Michelle and Lonny. I wish I could have been there. Being in Labrador I was not able to attend today but I watched the service online. Jacky was a good friend to so many. Thinking of you all in this sad time.

Dear Doreen, Michelle and family,
I am thinking of you today say Good Bye and celebrate Jacky’s life. Such a difficult time for you. I know you miss your much loved daughter and sister. Jacky was a lively presence wherever she went. I remember the last time I saw her was at Ron and Joan’s Regatta BBQ in 2019. I remember sharing a few laughs with her. May Jacky Rest In Peace now. Much love, Janice

Jackie was an exceptional nurse. My son was 8 when a baby tooth was temporarily filled and this lead to cellulitis on half his face. He had been extreme pain from the pressure of the infected tooth when he found out he would have to stay in hospital and have iv antibiotics. He became very upset. The only person that could console him and get him to cooperate was Jackie. My son is 24 now. When I heard Jackie died I called him. He immediately knew who I was speaking of, Jackie made a huge impression on both of us. We send our condolences to Jackie’s family; both the official family and all the people that have been touched by her beautiful spirit.

Mrs Cook and family, our sincere condolences on the passing of your beloved daughter and sister. May your memories and love give you strength. We remember you well from our childhood. Hugs,

We are so sad to learn of Jacky’s untimely passing. Sadly, it is far too soon. Our deepest and most sincere sympathies to Doreen and Michele. May she Rest In Peace.

Jackie – You’re gone much too soon. You had the biggest warmest personality. Beautiful on the outside and inside – unique – and as a plus it seemed like a joyful fun, party was on the go, whenever you were there or near. To your family, I offer deepest condolences.

Offering deepest condolences to Jackie’s family and many friends, especially to Doreen and Michelle. Jackie was such a bright light in our community and she was so loved by so many. I will miss her friendly smile, her laughter, and her great sense of fun. Sending condolences also on behalf of the Heath family, myself (Lori), Sylvia, Ed, and Jennifer.

Doreen & Michele,
I’m so saddened to learn of Jacky’s passing. In reading all the tributes here, and the brief time we did meet at that family gathering back in 2018, she was obviously well-loved and her friendships cherished. May all the happy memories bring you joy and a smile during this most difficult of times.
Sincerely,
Dale

Jacky was an incredible spirit, a community person with a sense of humour and love that shined. I will miss seeing her at music events and having a laugh and a hug, while enjoying one of our many favourite St. John’s musicians. The last two were particularly good, in July and just one month ago. Shine on dear Jacky Cook. Louise

So saddened to hear of Jacky’s passing. I worked with her at the Janeway, and I lived two doors up from her on Pleasant Street.

May she be at peace. Condolences to her family and friends.

Sincere condolences on the passing of Jacky to her mother and sister and all of the people whose lives she touched. Jacky was quite a personality, usually with her beautiful smile and soft voice. Many wonderful memories to hold on to of her.

To Jacky’s family and friends, this is a sudden shock. We haven’t seen her for years but wow, she was so young. Knew her through her relatives, the Keating family. She was always smiling and upbeat. I remember seeing her walking with her pet ferret many years ago. Condolences.

We worked with Jacky in Burin many moons ago. We loved her spirit and energy. So sad to hear of her passing. She will be missed by everyone that she touched.

Mrs Cook & Family,
I am so sorry to hear of Jacky’s passing. I moved to St John’s for my Pediatric residency at the Janeway in July/2002 and Jacky was one of the first friends that I made. That is not likely a surprise to anyone who knew her.
She was incredibly kind and welcoming, opening her home to me. We had many, many visits over the years on Pleasant Street, often in the garden that she loved so very much. We also spent a fair bit of time golfing in Pippy Park.
I last got to visit with her 4 years ago, which was the last time I was to St John’s. I was thinking of her just the other day, in fact.
I will always remember her fondly. She was a truly loving person. I am so sorry for your loss. She was one of a kind!

My sincere condolences. Jacky was so loved and was so good to everyone who knew her. She will be missed by so many.

I hope you can find comfort in your memories.

Mrs Cook , Michele and family,
I am deeply saddened to hear of Jacky’s passing. Most of my fondest memories growing up, both in school and after school, included Jacky, usually at the Center of the event or get together. She was such a warm and giving person who loved to make people happy.
My sincerest condolences. May you find some peace in knowing that so many people loved her and share in your loss

Mrs. Cook and Michele,
Thinking of you both at this time. What a terrible shock it is to lose someone so suddenly. I remember many times hanging with Jacky in your basement, playing records then taking breaks to make pizza when we were just little kids. I know that she is alright and at peace and I hope you can both find peace and strength, especially as you navigate this holiday season.
Carolyn Rideout (Barfoot)
