I wanted to offer my deepest condolences on the loss of your Dad. I knew him back in the day when he used to come
to Marystown to sell Coty He was so awesome and a pleasure to work with. Linda Lake
Julie Anne and Colleen, my sincere condolences to you and your family. Julie Anne, I was on a fundraising committee with your dad back when you and my daughter Susan were going away to Music-Fest with the MQP junior high band. Although our committee all worked well together, your Dad and Brian Power knew all about fundraising, which the rest of us didn’t, and as a result they did by far the most work. Your mom and Brian’s wife were also part of our team. We all enjoyed your dad’s good nature. Cherish your memories.
Dear we are so sorry to hear the news about your dad… Jiim was always so sweet and friendly . He always had time to stop and chat no matter where .You are in our thoughts and prayers … GOD BLESS
Jim was my dad’s first cousin, to us he was always “Big Jim”. We all loved him so much. He had such a great sense of humor and always had a joke for us. It was such a pleasure to see him and spend time with him at our Fahey Christmas gathering.. He will be greatly missed! Julie and Colleen my sincerest condolences on your dad’s passing. To all of the Gladney family , hugs and prayers to you all.
Jim was always super friendly and had a nice chat with me every time he came to Walmart Stavanger Drive. He was also great friends with my great uncle Ed and great aunt Theresa Williams
My condolences to Jim’s family as you know Jim was one of a kind. Our St Pat’s school friends always loved to hear his jokes and funny stories on our outings.
Jim you will never be forgotten RIP my friend
Sending our condolences to Jim’s family and friends. Keeping you all in our thoughts.
Sorry for your loss Julie.
Sympathies to the family of my Dad’s cousin Jim. As a kid, Dad would load up the station wagon and we would go to the property adjacent to Jim and Bev’s home for the annual Christmas tree hunt. Always stopped for a visit once we had our prize tree. I see so much of my late Grandmother, Virginia Fahey, in Jim’s face, especially the twinkle in his eye! May he rest in peace.
Julie, Colleen and families
I am in shock at the passing of my very dear friend, Jim.
Our friendship started as teenagers and it became a lifelong friendship.
As you know, Your dad always had his office in one of my buildings, So we saw each other quite frequently, along countless fishing trips.
The camaraderie and laughs that we shared will never be forgotten.
I am unable to attend in person, but rest assured I will keep you in my heart and thoughts
Our Dad’s knew each other well and were great friends many years ago … My Dad often spoke very highly of Ray Gladney… and Thx Jim for every time you ever stopped to pick up a hitchhiking hippie, night or day, sunshine or snowstorm didn’t matter … we were all kids way back then, but like your Dad you were never anything less than a fine young gentleman… Smooth sailing Jimmy Gladney… you were one of the good guys
Julie Anne Colleen…… I would like to express my condolence to you both on the passing of your Dad. I hope the many memories you both have will be of comfort to you . Jim and Bev once again together..
So sorry for loss

Condolences on the loss of your Dad .. Jim , a friend to everyone I’m sure . Always a storey to tell , always greet you with a smile and a strong hand shake . Jim would often tell of how he would get a ride home late nights with my father , late Leo Pittman “ Leos “ as we lived in Windsor Heights near his home . Jim took myself and my friend Byron Trask out fishing in the pond. Out back of his house one day , we just got out and I hooked Byron in the back of his head with my spinner . End of fishing day . Even to the last time I had pleasure to be on his company he would always say ,” hello tiny , hook
any lately “ with that big smile and a laugh . A friend of our family . An honour to be a friend of Jim Gladneys .
Julie Ann and Colleen, I was so sorry to hear of Jim’s sudden passing. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Sending prayers to you and your family,
Julie, Colleen, Emma and Nolan,
Heart broken to here about the passing of Uncle Jim. All be it not a blood uncle, I never called him anything different and was a big part of my childhood. More than less of the early memories he was in.
I hope that his wake and celebration of life is full of happiness / laughs along with the mourning of a dear friend.
I figured that I wont be there for the wake, so I figured I would offer here some of the memories that just come to mind as I thought of him over this weekend… PG13 ammunition / kindling suitable for public consumption.
Taking us out to the candy tree around xmas time, I think I still believed that up until a few years ago.
At MQP when they introduced the kiss and ride, Jim would call them over to open the door, then proceed loudly to “keep your hands off my car!”
When he took Dad, Lippa and I fishing and Lippa came walking up Pleasantville Avenue in an all yellow rain slick with his rubber boots ducktaped to the legs and his was pants duct tape to his jacket… as he didnt have hip waders.. I am not sure your dad gave him 5 minutes of peace the whole day until dad lost his boot in the bog to take the attention away from Adam slowly sinking due to his leaking experiment. We caught less than nothing that day… except for the life long lesson from Jim that if you order pea soup at Irving Big Stop you must get the dough’by’s on the side. You get twice as much soup that way.
Or when at Puenz’s house for regatta he would call out to strangers to come up to the lawn for a beer, and as soon as they took one step on the lawn “Get off my my lawn!”… and god forbid someone walked by in a yellow t shirt to be become the infamous bottle of mustard and be reminded of the fact from Taylor Place to the Boulevard along with obscure references to certain aisles of Sobeys….
You could probably right a coffee table book from the 40 years of regatta days from his callings from the lawn…. before he would take me down and demonstrate how to buy a 2 dollar stuff toy for gangster roll of money with his mind set that everyone gets a prize. A trailblazer for the “No child left behind” act.
I looked forward to his visits so much when I ever I get home. He was truely one of a kind and worth the price of admission!
Rest in Peace Uncle Jim. would have loved to hear the one liner you gave to St Peter… My personal favorite is if you did your impression of Edgar for him.

Julie Anne, Colleen, Emma, and Nolan:
Gail and I are so shocked and saddened by all of our sudden loss of your Dad, Grand-dad and our very good friend.
Jim and I were good buddies since the late 1960s. We had the honour of being best man at each other’s weddings. Bev and Gail also became the best of friends and we all shared such a strong bond as our families grew. That special bond has continued over the decades, replaced with wonderful memories of Bev and now of Jim.
I read the notes of condolence from Jim’s many friends and they captured so much of what made Jim special – his generosity, quick wit, love of and devotion to family, outgoing and fun loving personality, and great singing voice (accompanied by a 12 piece orchestra, he sang Johnny Mathis hit song “The Twelve of Never” to Bev at their wedding). Jim could also impersonate so many people we knew.
We will miss Jim very much and our Regatta and Boxing Day gatherings will not be the same.
Rest in peace, Jim. You were one of the best.
All our love,
Brian and Gail
To Jim’s family, sincere condolences to you My thoughts and prayers are with you. . Colleen and Julie Ann , I am so sorry to hear of your dear Dad’s passing. I remember his friendly personality from the years I dropped off Susan to play with you, Colleen, when you both were children. I know you are heartbroken to say goodbye in this life. But always speak his name, and he will be forever by your side. May it comfort you to remember all the good times and to think of the spirits of both your mom and dad, together in some other dimension, watching over you both and his grandchildren. My heart goes out to you. Love and hugs from me and Fred.

Julie Ann and Colleen,
Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your dad. I was so saddened to hear this news.
I had the pleasure of working with Jim during his time as a sales representative when I was a Cosmetic Manager at Shoppers Drug Mart. He was such a vibrant and larger-than-life personality, always bringing a real energy to our meetings with his great smile and booming voice!
What I remember most vividly was how incredibly proud he was of his daughters – you both were clearly the light of his life.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Thinking of you and your family during this difficult time.
sorry for you loss Brian
So sorry to hear and read that one of best buddies in life, the best of the best has passed. We had some many great times together and drank to our heart content. When he visited my store as a salesman he called himself the vice president of marketing for Shoppers Drug Mart and asked me for a quarter so he could put in the meter not to get a ticket. Im writing this condolence as I sit here in disbelief of his passing. I will miss him immensely and will also cherish his friendship, humour and jokes till the day I pass. I can still feel his hardy handshake as he entered the store and remember vividly the day I visited the funeral home when his lovely Bev was waking and he turned to me tears rolling down his face and said. I knew you would be the first one to visit my beloved Bev. I can go on for hours on this fantastic gentleman life and friendship and the greatness that he enjoy his life. He had no enemies only friends too many to count. Rest in peace and comfort Jim my now lost friend. Forever in my mind
So sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. Only spoke to him a few months ago when he called on my brother’s passing. In our younger and mid adulthood we were good friends with a large group of couples including Bev. Had lots of fun times on the road across the island. Those fun times continued into our married lives.. Both had to miss each other’s wedding as we were married one day apart. Lots of fun jokes up on Salmonier Line at Chris Fagan’s cabin. Sorry to his family on their loss. Jim will be remembered., Sandy & Angie Gibbons
Julie, we are so sorry for your loss. Deepest condolences to you and all your family at this most difficult time, take care.
To Jims Family , We were deeply saddened to hear of Jim’s passing. The Province has lost a wonderful individual whose knowledge and sense of humour brightened every room he entered. His impish grin and repetoire of jokes and stories portrayed his love of life and the people who were fortunate to be part of it. He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him. Unfortunately we are out of the Province and cant pay our respects in person. Danny and Elizabeth Williams
