Obituary
Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed, and very dear.
It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of James King in his 35th year. Predeceased by father, Darrell King; grandparents, Peter & Jenny Power; grandparents James & Edith King; uncle, David Power; and Herb “Poppy” Mitchell.
Leaving to mourn his loving mother, Lydia Janes and stepfather, Robert Janes; dear sister, Darlene King; cherished niece and nephew, Haley Kydd and Jacob Newell; treasured partner, Alex Kenny; loving step-siblings, Stephanie Janes (Corey), Janessa Janes and Robert Jr. Janes (Victoria); and special pet pug, Harry King; plus a large circle of family and friends, aunts & uncles, nieces & nephews.
James’ family wishes to extend thanks to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Search and Rescue Division; Rovers Search & Rescue; Eastern Health emergency services; and all the family, friends, and neighbours who assisted in the search. A very special thanks to the neighbour who found James. From the bottom of our hearts – we offer you our sincere thanks.
A funeral mass will be held from St. Michael’s Church, Flatrock, on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 2p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to the Vera Perlin Society.

Lydia, Robert, Darlene, Haley and Jacob, how do we even begin to express our sorrow for your incredible loss…. Jimmy was always such a kind, sweet, funny guy, my go to for all of my electronic questions and a pretty good corn hole partner to…he was a great friend to all who knew him, the best Uncle to Haley and Jacob, best brother to Darlene and the greatest son(step son) a mom & dad could of ever asked for to Lydia and Robert … we share in your pain with this huge loss, being neighbours may have made us friends but love has made us family… we are here for you day or night. Jimmy watch over your mom and give her the strength she needs to go on and when days seem unbearable for her we will take care of her and your family until you can all be together again… Rest easy Jimmy ❤️

I worked with James for two years, but I’ve known him for 6. James was such a bright light, I’ll never forget his sense of humor, and how much he loved making people laugh. A few months ago I ran into him and he was so excited for my new career path and told me he wanted a tattoo from me to add to his collection once I started. I’m heartbroken I won’t be able to do see him again and tattoo him. He was, and always will be loved and missed by so many. Sending my deepest heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. I hope you all feel the love and warmth sent your way. He was truly one of a kind.
