Obituary

Passed away peacefully at his home in St. John’s on Thursday, March 26th, 2020, James Newhook, aged 90 years. Originally from Norman’s Cove. Predeceased by his parents Charity and Levi Newhook. Leaving to mourn with sad hearts and a lifetime of cherished memories, his loving wife Grace (nee Smith), children Glenn, Kathy (Scott), Charity (Charlie), Levi (Maria), Todd (Lisa), 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, siblings Gilbert (Gladys), Pheobe (Derm), Garland (Peg), Cyril (Doreen), Seymour (Ida), Lizzy (Levi) and a large circle of relatives and special friends. Cremation has taken place and in light of the current health advisories, service arrangements will be announced at a later date.

Kathy, Condolences on your dads passing. thinking of you at this difficult time

To the Newhook family; I was so sad to read about Mr. Newhook (he’ll always be “Mr. Newhook” to me.). I have such good memories of him during the time you guys lived in Stephenville. I’m glad that I had a few opportunities to see him a few times over the past couple of years. My sister Jane and I think of your family often and I wish you all the best. Sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. We were close friends and neighbours for many many years. We took part in church functions together, wardens, serving, and everything that goes with it. There were also years with the A.N.D operations in Millertown. Many memories I’ll hold on to, with Jim, and the whole family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
