Obituary
Janet Louise (Debbie) Smart age 67, passed peacefully away July 30th, 2024 in the loving arms of her children.
Leaving to mourn with broken hearts are her sons Jeff and Joey; daughter Lisa (Dave); brothers George Leaman (Francis) and Jim Leaman (Helen), the father of her children, Joe Smart; as well as nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends and family.
Predeceased by parents Wilson and Olive Leaman; brother Mac; sisters Annie, Greta, Peggy, Shirley, and Linda.
Special thank-you to the kind, caring staff of St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, Intensive Care Unit; Dr. Lee, Dr. Gregory, and Jennifer Richard, NP.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 1st from 2-9 pm at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Funeral service will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel at 11 am on Friday, August 2nd , followed by interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations in her memory may be made to Beagle Paws.
You are forever loved and will be missed by all.

We are so very sorry for the loss of your mom. She was such a beautiful lady. She always had a smile on her face and we enjoyed many conversations with her over the years. She always stopped to say hello to our boys whenever she saw them . Always so sweet!

I knew Janet back when she worked at Sobeys in the Avalon Mall. She was one of my dear friends and she stood in my wedding. We had so much fun together. .Janet was a beautiful soul when I knew her and I’m sure all through her life. Rest in peace Janet ♥️

I haven’t see your mother in a while, but I do have fond memories of her from when I would go over to hang out with Lisa, and she was a lovely, wonderful and funny lady.
