Joan and Family
We are shocked and saddened to read today of Jehus passing.. He was always the gentleman at work and well repected for his broad experience in the technology field.
I recall a day or two before he retired I visted him at his office. He was packing up his things and had no use anymore for a large file briefcase . “You might as well take it…” he said. I still have it. I also recall many years before , in the 1970’s, when I didn’t know many people at TNT in Gander …just a few names. One name that stood out was his, but we had never met.. One day in winter after a hugh storm had hit the island a call came to the office for me. My Assistant came in and said ” A Mr J.U. Dodge is on the phone from TNT in Gander. “Its JEHU not J.U..” I told her and answered the phone in great anticipation of what this well known name wanted of me. Fortunately we were able to help him with what he needed to restore service after the storm. Jehu was a fine person and may he rest in peace.

Joan, my heartfelt condolences. You and Jehu were the best neighbors for 32 years and I am so grateful for beautiful friendship, laughter and sharing. May Jehu Rest In Peace. 🤗

Joan, I was sorry to hear of Jehu’s passing. I always enjoyed a game of golf with him. My condolences to you and family.

Dear Joan and family, John and I are so sad to learn of Jehu’s death. From his golfing days with my dad and Max at Bally Haly many, many years ago to our chats with him (and you) on your regular walks around Cowan Heights. We are missing those inciteful chats already. You are in our thoughts.

Dear Joan, Stephen and Members of Mr. Dodge’s Family, it was with deep sadness that I learned of Jehu’s death. We, the Sisters at Littledale Residence, had been praying for him since he had gone to hospital. It was my joy to come to meet Stephen’s parents and to get to know Jehu after he came to live at the Residence. He and Joan dined at the dinner quite near mine. He was always most gracious about stopping to chat before and after our meal. He shared stories of Stephen and his family, and I shared with him my pride in having known and worked with Stephen. He was especially mindful of my elderly aunt who also lives at the Residence. His way of speaking with her was the true mark of a gentleman. Know that you Joan and all the family will be in our hearts and in our prayers as you grieve the death of your beloved husband and father. May you be comforted in knowing the legacy of grace, dignity, and love for and pride in family that he has left all of you. May Jehu rest now in the love of the Risen One for all eternity. Blessings of healing, hope and peace, Sister Elizabeth

So sad to hear of Jehu’s passing. We knew Jehu for a number of years and he would come out to Plate Cove East to go cod fishing . He really enjoyed those trips. When we went to town we would meet for a coffee at Tim’s with my friend and catch up on all the news. He was a lovely man and will be missed.

Sincere condolences to Joan and family. A former co-worker and moose hunting buddy back in mid eighties.
Enjoyed his company very much. Many stories/yarns over a bottle of wine, etc. Rest in Peace, Jehu

Sorry to hear that Jehu has passed. He was fun to be around.

Sending our deepest condolences on your loss to Jeff, Catherine, Alannah, Julia, Joan and all the Dodge family. As you know, we spent a wonderful week in St John’s in the summer of 2015 and our fondest memories are of the warmth and generous hospitality from Jehu and Joan, Steve and Sandra, and the Cowans. We loved hearing Jehu’s humorous tales of life on the Rock and so appreciated his kind sharing of the caplin catch from Middle Cove and the accompanying requisite shots of screech. May all your memories of Jehu stay warm and comforting.

Marjorie, my deepest sympathy to you and your brother’s family at this time. It is never easy to lose a sibling but I hope your memories of his long life will stay with you and be some comfort.

Judith (Layman) Abbott, Edmonton

Our deepest condolences to your family.

So sad to see such this wonderful man leave us. My deepest condolences to you Joan and the Dodge family..
Beyond an uncle to to my wife Jehu was my sailing captain, golf buddy, member of our Thursday brunch group, a sincere friend. We shared plenty of good laughs, curious sailing maneuvers, engaging brunch stories, amazing golf hits, detailed renovation tips that were always flawless.
It was hard to see his decline these last months, but still during my last visit with him at the Littledale Jehu was as cheerful as ever, vibrant to the moment. He will long be remembered.

Condolences to my Aunt Joan and cousins. George and I were saddened to hear Jehu had passed.. Uncle Jehu was a friend, mentor and a person I could laugh with easily. Our hehaw moments I will cherish because his love of good humour and storytelling was a great gift. Love you and I will always miss you..

Barb and I would like to express our sincere and heartfelt condolences to our Aunt Joan and our cousins Jeff , Stephen David and Jennifer. and their families. Once and awhile you meet a sincere and honest person that is larger than life, Jehu Dodge was one of those people . Although he was my uncle and not a huge age difference he always greeted me as a friend and mentor . My fondest memory of Jehu was two years ago when we did a stay vacation in the province and we made an unannounced visit to their home on a Friday night to beer and pizza at the kitchen table. Apparently that was a tradition for them and we loved every minute of the conversation about days gone by. . Gods speed my friend and Uncle Jehu .
