Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beautiful daughter, Jennifer Catherine Martin.
Jennifer passed May 5, 2025 at the age of 41, in the presence of her family, at the Miller Centre’s Palliative Care Unit.
Jennifer leaves behind a legacy of strength and determination. All who knew Jennifer, knew she was a fighter to the end.
Leaving to mourn are her loving parents, Gary and Valerie Martin, her children, Brooklyn and Mason, who were her whole world, her brother Jonathan (Niki) and nephews Alex and Dylan. Her fiance Brad Vickers, who has been with Jennifer throughout her long and courageous battle with cancer, as well as his children Mitchell, MacKenzie and Makalya. Also left to mourn are her grandmother Lorraine Parsons, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Jennifer is predeceased by her grandfather John Parsons and grandparents Victor and Catherine Martin and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jennifer loved life. She loved her children. She loved her partner. She loved her family. But, she also loved shopping. She loved shoes. She loved clothes. She loved people. And, she loved to talk. Maybe that was why she loved working at the Revenue Canada Call Centre. After attending the Operating Engineers College in Holyrood, Jennifer loved driving the heavy equipment, and she did it all with that beautiful hair of hers and those fabulous nails.
A very special thank you to an amazing doctor who has become a friend, Doctor Cheryl Hurley, as well as the many doctors and nurses who helped with her care since 2017.
A special thank you to my cousin Debbie Parsons and my brother Lester Parsons, who has helped us carry the load.
Jennifer is resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home at 329 Freshwater Road.
Visitation: Thursday, May 8, 12 noon until 8 pm.
Funeral Service will be Friday, May 9 at 2 pm, Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist at 16 Church Hill, St. John’s.
Internment will follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Coady’s Road, St. Philip’s.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jennifer’s memory may be made to The Vera Perlin Society or Special Olympics NL.

To Brad and the rest of Jen’s family. We just heard of Jen’s passing. As you know I had the pleasure of working with her for a few years not long ago. She was very kind, caring and full of life. She went on to better things but I would still get an occasional message from her reminiscing about silly things that happened when she worked with us. We had many laughs. She was liked by all who worked with her. My deepest condolences to you Brad and the rest of her family. She will definitely be missed. Rest in peace Jen.
