My deepest sympathy Monty and family

We can shed tears that they have gone,
Or we can smile that they have lived.
We can close our eyes and pray that they will come back,
Or we can open our eyes and see all the good that they have left us.
Our hearts can be empty because we cannot see them,
Or our hearts can be full with love that we’ve shared.
We can turn our backs on tomorrow and live yesterday,
Or we can be happy for tomorrow, because of yesterday.
We can remember them and only that they have gone,
Or we can cherish their memory and let it live on.
We can cry and close our minds, be empty and turn our backs,
Or we can do what they would have wanted,
Smile, open our eyes, love, and go on.

Monty,

The world is a little less funny now without Joni in it. We are saddened to realize there will be no more foolish Agnes and Bridie Thames place stories that we have come to laugh about over the years. Our thoughts are with you during this time.

To Joni’s girls…. Like her obituary reads, she really did speak so proudly of your accomplishments. She would speak of you often when we would be at a meal over at Anne and Charlie’s. So sorry for the loss of your mother.

For those of us who knew Joni this world is less bright without her light and she was a true light for those who knew her. To Monty, her children and family my deepest condolences and prayers during this difficult time.

Dear Monty & family.,
My condolences to you all on Joni’s passing. I knew Joni well when we were youngsters, a lifetime ago & I enjoyed chatting with her on the rare occasions that we ran into each other as adults. She was always a lot of fun..I am truly sorry for your loss.

Dear Mont, I don’t think we’ve seen each other since the ’70s and not spoken (phone) since about a decade ago. But the announcement of the death of your wife has brought back a lot of memories through reading the condolences of Annette Hayward, Jim Saunders, Tom Sutton Harry Pride and Mun Batstone as well as memories of our parents, who were good friends. What are we but the sum total of our memories, and I hope yours of Joni are good ones. I’m sending you my sympathy.

I worked with Joni many years ago along with my sister Judy.
Joni was a wonderful friend, always there to guide me and give me great advice, ultimately becoming my bridesmaid in 1979. I have many great memories, so many laughs and fun times.
A few years ago we got together and reminisced about the old days and filled in on the years gone by. Always had a smile and a funny story.
I was so blessed to have had Joni in my life, she will never be forgotten.
RIP Joni

Ann Marie,
Sincere condolences on the passing of your beloved sister. We know how close you two were. Her name was mentioned in every conversation we had. We remember meeting Joni with Monty at your place in Florida. She was such a vibrant person and that even comes through in the beautiful photo chosen for her obituary. We are thinking of Monty and family and know their loss is a very heavy one. As you go through these difficult days may you be given the courage to journey on in peace as Joni would want you to do.. God bless you.

So sorry to hear of Joni’s passing. May her gentle soul rest in peace.. Sincerely, Ron and Marie Power.

Bobbi, Jennifer, Monty and all of Joni’s family,
I was shocked to hear of Joni’s passing. She was my mentor and friend in my first job at the law firm back almost 50 years ago and we continied to keep in touch over the years after her ‘retirement’ from law. She became a friend to my whole family and even stood up for my sister at her wedding. She was the most fun to be around and gave the best advice. We reconnected back a few years ago and had some great laughs reminiscing the good old days at the law firm. I have lots of wonderful memories that I will hold dear forever as I know you all do as well.
Rest well Joan Elizabeth. You will never be forgotten.

My Dearest Bridie …. I miss you! Having become friends with Joni when I moved on our street in 2004 we gave each other “pet names” as she insisted on calling me Agnes for fun and so I insisted she’d be Bridie. We had so much fun talking daily. We hardly missed a day on the phone. I will forever remember her funny and quick- witted sayings. I am so sorry for your loss Monty . I know how close you both were. You have amazing memories to carry you through. And to Bobbi, Jennifer and Geri and her sister Ann Marie – know that I number among many who care.

God speed Bridie … I will hold space for you in my day.
Anne Richardson (aka Agnes)

Bobbi, Jennifer, and Monty,
My deepest condolences on the passing of your dear mother/wife. I will always remember Joni as an independent woman; full of life, humor, and wisdom. Whenever I crossed paths with her, she always took the time to ask me about my family, career, and school in the earlier years. I cherish the fun times we had together when Bobbi and I were in high school and university. Joni always made us laugh and had some wisdom or experience to share with us. Her girls were her pride and joy and she was a fabulous role model to them on the importance of being independent, hard working, and kind.

May you find lots of comfort in the memories you both shared over the years
May her Gentle Soul Rest In Peace

I m saddened, beyond word, s to learn of the passing of my friend since childhood. Joni Murphy was in a class all her own. She was dignified yet funny; she had big heart and was so kind and empathetic towards everyone who knew her. Her smile was her hallmark and she wore it everywhere. We always joked that I gave her the first set of china she owned – a doll’s china set for her fourth Birthday. My heart goes out to Monty who gave her the best years of her life; to Bobbi and Jennifer of whom she was so proud;; to her much loved sister, Anne Marie and to her life long friend, who was her other sister, Mary Margaret Strang.. Justin joins me in sending heartfelt condolences to all of you and wishing you peace and strength in the days ahead.
