Obituary

We sadly announce the peaceful passing of John Alexander Tucker, of St. Philip’s, on May 3, 2022, at the Dr. L.A. Miller Centre, aged 66 years.

John is predeceased by his parents, Mary and Alec Tucker, sisters Evelyn Clarke and Pamela Macpherson, brother Carl, parents-in-law Timothy and Patricia Connors, brothers-in-law Tim, Bart, Michael, and Fabian Connors, Roger Currie and sister-in-law Valerie Currie.

John leaves to mourn his loving wife of 45 years, Evangeline (nee Connors), son Carl (Tanya) and daughter Nicole Byrne (Paul) and a precious grandson and Dad T’s buddy, Alec.

He also leaves to mourn sister Lana Ryan (Doug French- deceased) and brother Wade, brothers-in-law Bob Clarke, Brian Connors (Heather) and Patrick Connors, sisters-in-law Patricia Gosse (Peter Prowse) and Lorraine Connors, nieces Susan Goldsworthy (Dean), Gail Ryan (Barry), Carole Ann Ryan-Troke (Matt), Kim Clarke, Jenni MacPherson (Louis), Beverly Jordan (Roy), Laurie Currie and Amanda, nephews Dean Clarke (Debbie), Tim Jr. Connors, Christopher Connors, Sean Connors (Charmaine), Brian Connors (Melanie), Seamus Connors (Amber Lynn) and Shane Currie, special family friends Ed (Debbie) Churchill,  Diane Pollett and Lynn Cleary,  along with a large circle of extended family and friends.

Special thanks to Dr. Joanne Bishop, Dr. D. Harvey, Dr. Grewel, Dr. Holmes, Dr. Doulton, and the staff of the Dr. L.A. Miller Centre.

John was an electrician and a long-time member of the IBEW local 2330. His work took him across Canada, to the US, Bahamas and even Africa. He took pride in his work. Although he worked many places during his life, he always wanted to be home. Providing for his family and building a life for them was his primary focus. He spent much of his free time out around the door, planting his vegetable garden and clearing the land. He enjoyed lighting a fire in the shed, having a BBQ, and having a cold beer. In the past 5 years, he was affectionately known as Dad T by the family, as he thought he was too young to be called poppy. Time spent with his grandson has been a great source of joy- whether it be walks down in the woods or rides on the trike or just carrying on- often with special little buddy Cameron, along for the fun.

We hope that he is now reunited with the loved ones he has lost, along with some of his good buddies- Chris Haines, Wayne Tucker, Brian Cleary, Randy Pollett, Obie King, and Chris Tucker, to name a few.

At John’s request, cremation has taken place. There will be an inurnment at St. Philip’s Anglican Cemetery on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 2pm.

John/Dad/Dad T- we’ll say good luck, not goodbye. Until we meet again, we’ll cherish the good times and happy memories.
