I was sorry to see that your Dad had passed. I have fond memories of chatting with my Dad, and both of you at Pleasant View Towers while Dad was there. They surely enjoyed visiting with you and Chance. Your Dad had a great sense of humour, and I know you will miss him.

On behalf of the Marine Atlantic Pensioners Society (Central) I extend our condolences to the extended Butt families. Most of us sailed with his during our careers. On a personal note I first met John as a class mate when taking a Diesel Mechanics course in the old MUN Annex in 1957.

Debbie,so sorry to hear of your Dads passing,I can still remember having such a great time with him at your wedding seems like yesterday,,may he rest in peace

To Tolson, Wanda and Debbie:

Well where do I begin… Knew this sweet man when his mom(Alma) and aunt Drucilla were residents on my floor… He would walk from Mt Pearl to Escasoni EVERY day both to visit and for his health. Had the pleasure of meeting his dght Debbie during this time and again while caring for her dad. We joked just a few nights ago that you know you are a legend here when you nursed your grandma, aunt and now your dad. A very sweet man and a pleasure to care for… From his seafaring stories to his “story” about the loss of his leg… He told every word as if it was gospel lol… To Debbie, Wanda and all his family… My deepest sympathies… Rest easy John …. You are on your final voyage…xo

So sorry to hear of your father’s passing. I met your Father when he lived in Deep Bight, A small town just outside Clarenville. We enjoyed many laughs together. God bless you all at this sad time! Hugs to all.
