Catherine, Thomas and I all had the pleasure and privilege of knowing and working with “Big John” Lee at Woodland Nurseries.. He was a kind, considerate and helpful co-worker, a real man and a distinguished gentleman. RIP, Big John.

Deepest sympathy to the Lee family. Lorraine, Mary, Marian and all your families. We wish you all peace and comfort as you grieve the sudden loss of John. I remember him as a quiet and sweet guy growing up as I spent a great deal of time at your home and as well in Holyrood , all of us hanging out together..We share in your sadness at this difficult time. Angela Gibbons (Sandy)

John & family- my thoughts are with you as you say a last farewell to my first cousin John. I remember the early years in St. John’s where we spent time together and enjoyed our summers in Holyrood with grandparents. May you rest in peace John.

Rest in peace John. I believe we saw each other at Aunt Gen’s 90 th birthday party. That was 10+ years ago.. I think the party was at Lib Corbetts house.. I moved away in 1970 and sorry to say never kept in touch with your family. I inquired one time about Lorraine’s email address, but my family didn’t have it. Anyhow life is too short. I will be watching the service tomorrow. And again may your gentle soul rest in peace..

To Mamie, Dick and the Lee family , our sincere condolences on hearing of John’s passing. I most recently saw John at my mother Joan’s funeral where we had a chance to talk. My earliest memories of John were when Dad and I used to visit John Charles Senior, known to us all as Uncle Jack, when I was a young boy. I always remember John Jr having a smile on his face. Marian and Lee families our sincere condolences on John’s passing.

The Lee Family
Oh my! What on earth can one say about Dear John Lee. John was one of my very, very best friends as well as being my first cousin. I visited John every time I went back to Nfld :: we shared meals at restaurants, visited his home in Kelligrews, drives around St John’s and Holyrood etc. Spoke with him via phone often and had many, many laughs. He was indeed (as someone recently said) a dear soul and anyone who was lucky enough to have him cross their path, loved him. Thank you John for being my friend for all those yrs. RIP Clare Walker (nee Williams) Victoria BC

Sincere condolences to the Lee family, and friends of John. I had the pleasure of knowing John, through his sister Marian, when we were young. He was lovely, quite simply.
May you rest in peace John.

To the Lee family both immediate and extended
both Art and myself wish to offer our heartfelt condolences to you all. John was my first cousin. I know how he loved his dogs. Each time we went to NL we always visited him in Kelligrews and always enjoyed our visit him. In his memory we will be sending a donation to the local SPCA. God speed John now you all will be able to have a good kitchen party with the Lee and Williams family. There will be a star in the heavens that will shine brightest as you continue your journey.

I worked with John for many years at Woodland Nurseries and he was genuinely such a gentle soul. His stories and our work chats will hold a special place in my heart. He never missed the opportunity to ask any of the staff how our dogs were doing, and to stop and enjoy some pictures of our furry friends. He will be dearly missed by all those who had the pleasure to know him.
