Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Hospital at the age of 74.

Predeceased by his wife Elizabeth (Betty) Murphy, parents Hector and Rita Wells, siblings Lloyd, David, Harry, Audrey, Pearl and Gladys.

Left with fond and loving memories are siblings Daniel Wells (Ramona), Fred Wells (Marilyn) of Hampden, Golda Rideout (Gary) of Pasadena, Josie Wells of Hampden, Roxanne Mitchell (Jim) of Fort Myers and nephews and nieces, with special mention of nephew Russ Rideout who was by his uncle’s side through illnesses and wellness as they shared a special bond, and a large circle of family and friends.

Jack was a very kind person who had a great sense of humour. He grew up in Hampden where he loved trouting, berrypicking and boating.

When attending university, he met Betty and they married in 1976. He worked as a teacher and taught in Labrador and on the Island. He provided care for his wife for many years.

Jack appreciated the care that he received at the local dialysis clinics and hospitals. He enjoyed chatting and joking with the nurses. Also, special thanks to his home care workers Bridgette Maher and Brenda Harding.

Memorial Service to be held at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Sunday, October 23rd at 1:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gathering Place, St. John’s.

Golda, Gary, sandi, Brian, Russel, Danielle and Haley and all the wells family: we are so very sorry we were not able to be there with you to share in Jacks service today. our hearts are very sad to realize He is no longer with us. He was such a pleasant man whom we loved dearly. we will always miss him. Love and prayers to all. Fred, Marilyn, Sherry and Donna Wells.
