It is with sorrowful hearts we regretfully announce the passing of John “Thomas” Ryan at 70 years of age. Tom passed peacefully away surrounded by his devoted family on February 14/2022 at the Health Sciences Centre.
Predeceased by his mother Margaret Ryan; brother Frank Ryan; mother and father-in-law Kenneth and Blanche Stokes; and brother in law Norman Patton.
Left with a lifetime of loving memories is his wife of 43 years Norma Ryan; his daughter Lori Ryan (Corey Blackwood); son Steven Ryan (Megan Freake) and the pride and joy of his life, his grandchildren, Ava Cooze and Mekellan Blackwood.
Leaving to mourn are his brother Ron Ryan (Mary), brother and best friend Larry Ryan (Shelley); sister Violet Kieley (Gary); sister in law Mary Ryan (Frank); brother and sister in laws Sandra Patton (Norman), Terry Sharpe (Kevin), Kim Kearley (Art); and a large circle of nieces and nephews.
He will also be missed by a large circle of friends and extended family members.
Tom was a kind and generous man and would do anything he could to help someone when needed. He was a man of his word and someone that could always be counted on. He was a kind gentle soul and this world would be a better place if it had more people like him in it.
Cremation has taken place and at his request there will be no open visitation or service. A private family celebration of life will take place at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to a charity of one’s choice.

but we still have you in our hearts and there you’ll be forever!

Only heard of your husbands passing this morning, February 18. At first, I was shocked, but, it is for the better because he will not be suffering any more and you may not have to worry about him anymore.

Condolences to all of you who loved this kind man . I knew he was a generous and kind man before I knew who he was. My mom remembers how Tom treated her husband (Eugene Lambe ) years ago when he was a customer going through throat cancer. Tom would go out of his way to cut his steaks extra thin so he could still enjoy the taste of a good steak .He helped my Mom move her stuff about 2 years ago with his brother, Larry . As hard as Mom tried to give him money for his help, no way was he having any part of that ! My daughter Jennifer says all of the Ryans are like that….truly good ,kind people that would help anyone ! I remember the love he had for his nephew Christopher Ryan , who was in hospital from an accident. This was the first time I was officially introduced to Tom and he was pacing the halls of the hospital ,deeply concerned about his nephew. I barely knew Tom, but for the kindness he showed everyone and the loving devotion he had to his family , I wanted to share this . Rest easy Mr. Ryan.

Condolences to Ron, Mary and all the Ryan Family as you morn the passing of Tom. I have many great memories of Tom celebrating with the Ryan family. Unlike Ron, Tom was the reserved person who enjoyed the celebration from the background.. He was a very kind person , always willing to help in any way that he could.
