John was a true craftsman when it came to mechanics and fabrication. His enthusiasm for the hot rod building was unmistakable even when he just talked about cars, he was a great story teller that’s for sure.

To: Darlene & Tammy
I was so shocked to hear of Johnny’s passing. I certainly didn’t expect to hearing if his passing. When I was talking with last week I thought he would be released from the hospital and heading home to be recovered.
Darlene he is gone to his eternal home where he will be released from his earthly existence and transferred into a life of tranquility, peace , and pain free.. Donna always always told me her baby brother was her great big teddy beard and when he wrapped his arms around her it was like big bear hugs..
Tammy: you are probably nit aware of who I am. I am Donna’s cousin ( Donna’s mother and my mom are sisters). Last time I saw you was at Donna’s and Fred’s wedding you and Cindy were junior bridesmaids. My thoughts and prayers are with during this sad time in your life. God Bless.

Your loving Johnny will always be with you in your heart soul and mind through all the happy memories and good times you have shared with him. To Darlene and Family,
I’m so sorry to hear of John’s passing. Please accept my heartfelt condolences at this difficult time.

I first met John in 1972 when I moved to Brookfield Estates. Many games of street hockey played with John and other people who lived there as well as hanging out with the local car nuts such as Perry Dawe, Russ Hart, & the Seboir brothers on the corner of Knowling St.
We both ended up in the College of Trades and Tech where John did his Mechanics training and it was full tilt with him and hotrodding cars after that.
I lost touch with him for a few years but reconnected when I asked him to restore my car. Nothing changed, still the same ole John, same infectious laugh , crazy jokes and many many stories. His talent and meticulous attention to details however had grown exponentially.
John was not just a restoration expert, he was a Dreamweaver. There are many testaments to his skill level driving around the streets today and every one has a unique story as he made these dreams of what could be come to life in metal for his customers who soon became great friends.
John will forever be remembered for his good nature and willingness to help anyone who needed it.
I’m sure that when you look inside the Pearly Gates of Heaven, the first thing you’ll notice are two black strips of rubber.
God needed someone to build him a HotRod…

Godspeed my friend…..

Gail my deepest condolences to you, your family and John’s family. I didn’t have the pleasure of meeting you in person but certainly knew a lot about you. Perry Dawe managed to take us on a little visit many moons ago to see John and surprise him when I was visiting home from Ontario.. We all hung out in Brookfield Estates when we were younger. John was a good friend to all and loved by everyone. God bless you as you go through this sad time. Know that he touched so many people and was so loved and will be missed. ❤️
