Obituary
We are so very blessed to have known such an incredible woman She was the strongest, kindest, most loving, and faithful person we know. She mothered everyone, so much so that friends would often call her “mom”. She took this as a compliment and never shied away from being there for others who needed support in one way or another, a loving acceptance of all people.
We sat beside your bedside, our hearts were crushed and sore. We did our duty to the end, until we could do no more. In tears we watched you sinking, we watched you fade away. And though our hearts were breaking, we knew you could not stay. You left behind some aching hearts, that loved you most sincere. We never shall and never will forget you mother dear.
There will be another angel around the throne tonight, your loves lives inside me and I will hold on tight. It’s not my job to question only God knows why…I’m just jealous of the angels around the throne tonight. Heaven gained another Angel, and we know your finally resting in the arms of daddy tonight.
Predeceased by her husband Geoffrey Penney; parents Ronald & Clara Penney (nee Russell); brother Ronald Penney (Jr.); and niece Bride Penney.
Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her daughters Stephanie Penney (Shannon Burden), Zena Penney (Blaine Clark), and Renee Penney (Shedrach Osareniro); grandchildren Bianca Penney, Theo Penney, Olivia Penney-Osareniro, and Branson Clark; siblings Calvin Penney (Julia), Stanley Penney (Mildred), Charlotte Penney (Gerald), Austin Penney (Glynes) and Sharon Kippenhuck (Bert); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Memorial Donations may be made in Joyce Penney’s name to Mental Health Department, Labrador West Health Centre, 1700 Nichols-Adam Highway, Labrador City, NL A2V 0B2.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Labrador West Health Centre and the Health Science Centre for their care and compassion. Special thanks to Aunt Charlotte and Benita for being by our side through this difficult time and thanks to all family and friends who sent prayers, thoughts, and messages. Mom and her family appreciate it more than you know.

Joyce came into our lives as a friend and left as our family. She brought love, kindness, and generosity where ever she went. She could brighten the dullest day with her rainbow smile. Even though she was going through one of the hardest times she still kept her faith and let it be known that God is good, that he has a plan and takes care of his children. She introduced Faith, love and fellowship to everyone she met. It goes without saying that she will surely be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family Right now, even though we are miles apart we will always be connected at the heart. All our love from Anna, Charlie, Tammie, Kayla and children.

Saddened to hear of Joyce’s passing. She certainly was a loving compassionate woman who loved her Lord and Saviour.. Next to God she certainly loved her family and expressed it often to us.
