Sincere condolences, I remember Ms. Grey when I was a student of Park Ave in the early 70’s

Miss Gray was a very happy person…a pleasing smile in the morning when I arrived at class. She took me aside one day and gave me an award for reading and presented me with a book. It is her kindness and insight that helped me develop a love of reading. She stood out…she was excellent….

Dorothy and Jim, So saddened to learn of Kathy’s passing. So many memories flipping through my head right now. Our many hours attending school from Kindergarten through graduation at Jackson Memorial. Playing school and nurses in your back yard. We were separated for many years before being reconnected a few years ago. but our conversation picked up from where we left it almost sixty years before. May she Rest In Peace.

As someone who was never fond of school, I will always look back at Miss Gray’s class with great fondness, her kindness and gentle ways will stay with me always. Her legacy is the love she gave to so very many of her students.

If anyone ever asked who was your favourite teacher in school, my answer through the years was always Miss Gray. She was so kind and had a huge heart. She encouraged us to always put in your best effort. For me personally, she encouraged my creative side and gave me confidence in my abilities. I am so glad I had the opportunity at a local craft fair about 20 years ago to tell her in person she was my all time favourite teacher. She still is. She certainly made a difference to one little girl. My heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.

Dorothy and Jim. thinking of you at this time. May Kathryn Rest In Peace. Randy and Michelle Davis.
