Obituary
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of Kelvin (Kevie) Harding at the age of 66 in his beloved hometown of Portugal Cove.
Kelvin was preceded in death by his parents Kelvin and Daisy Harding, and his sister Lorna.
He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and love, particularly with “The Love of his Life” Edna Churchill. He is also survived by his special relatives, including Betty (Roger), Shirley (Eric), Wade (Sharon), and Gerry who was also his best friend. He has many cousin’s, nieces and nephews that will miss him dearly, as well as his closest friends Cyril Churchill, Bradley Churchill, Bob Hussey and Russell Dicks.
Also leaving behind are his brother Aubrey, and sister Della.
Throughout his life, Kevie touched the lives of countless individuals. Known for his boundless energy, unwavering hard work ethic and generous heart, he was always ready to lend a helping hand, without expecting anything in return. His passion for the outdoors was evident in his love for hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. He also loved a game of darts, dancing, enjoying a good meal with many, and spending time around a fire.
However, his greatest hobby was mechanics – there was nothing he couldn’t fix!
Kevie will be remembered by his laughter, friendship, and quiet acts of kindness that have left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the lives he touched will be treasured forever.
Cremation has taken place at Kevie’s request.
Please join us on July 7th at Carnell’s on Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd., from 12-9pm to share memories of Kev.
Funeral Service to be held on July 8th, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow at St. Lawrence Anglican Cemetery, Bauline Line Ext.

My sincerest deepest condolences to Kevie’s family and friends. Edna, your “Sonny” will be fondly remembered as my kind, sweet friend and teacher this past year and a half. I had even told him he was a God send to me. I now pray that God holds him, and keeps him safe. After all, he’s definitely the one fixing the angels chariots right now.

So very sorry for your loss. Kev was my neighbour for years while I lived at home and was always a character to say the least. Always kind, giving, helpful and certainly funny best describes him. No matter where you seen him he always spoke and cracked a joke, he was definitely one of a kind and will be missed by all who knew him . Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time.

Edna, my condolences to you and both the Harding and Churchill families. It absolutely broke my heart when I heard Kev passed away. We had many good times growing up together; fishing, hunting and other things we should not have been doing; however, all good memories and he will be surely missed. I went to see him when I was home in 2021 and like always we had some laughs like the good old days. I miss you already buddy Rest in peace.

RIP buddy. Though I hadn’t seen you in many years. I will always remember the times we had years ago. The time we went to Bay Roberts Rock fest and you danced the whole time, next day could stand or walk. So many memories. One of a kind with a heart of gold, always game for a laugh or some fun. You live on in memories for so many and won’t soon be forgotten.

So saddened to hear of Kevie’s passing. He was always good for a laugh. He spent many lunchtimes at our house years ago as Mom loved his company. He made my sisters retirement party one for the books with his little dance floor incident as Edna you know. He was one of a kind.
