We were so, so sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. Please know that our hearts are with you all at this time. May your memories sustain and strengthen you.

To: Uncle Wally, Marlise, Carlie, Alia, Keith & family and Kathy & family:

Like so many others who have been expressing similar sentiments in many of the condolences to all of you over the past few days, we too were also deeply shocked and saddened to hear of Ken’s passing. Frankly, we have struggled to find the words to both adequately express our sympathy at your loss, because we know that no words that we could say could possibly suffice, and to also let you know what Ken meant to us.
Ken was so warm, caring, quick-witted, and talented. He was truly such a special guy, a unique and generous spirit. He could instantly make you feel at ease in his presence and yet would be able to entertain you in conversation by talking at length on any number and variety of subjects and topics for hours on end. Those kinds of people with those particular qualities in combination are rare and it especially makes his loss more profound.
We have so many wonderful memories that we will treasure of our time spent with him, and indeed with you all, throughout the years. They range from childhood memories of where we would play at being pirates on an abandoned schooner when your family would come for Summertime visits, to the interesting and delightful conversations that would take place at family dinners at the house in Mt. Pearl, to our seeing him perform at different venues in St. John’s.
Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers and we are sorry we can’t be with you right now. Please treasure your memories and stay close. We will be forever grateful to have had such a wonderful cousin and please know that he was dearly loved.
We send you our love.

My sympathies to the family. I was a school friend in Mount Pearl and also connected as adults through the local music scene as he loved to play and perform. RIP my friend.

Marlise, Carlie, and Alia, you have our deepest condolences for your loss. May his memory bring you comfort in this difficult time. May He Rest In Peace.

Marlise
I sit here struggling to find the words to express my shock and sympathy. But, there are no words……
I remember when you and I first worked together at the Cancer Center…. the excitement of your wedding and over the next several years, the arrival of Carlie and Alia.
And I have a particularly fond memory of your two little girls twirling and spinning at the wedding of my girl. So beautiful!

Life is fragile and can change in a moment.
People will tell you that time will heal the hurt. And I know that to be true. As you rebuild your life, hold fast to your memories and hold your girls tight. Ken will live on through them.
It’s going to be okay.

To Wally and the entire Ball Family. It is a great shock to hear of Ken’s sudden passing. We have many fond memories of when our children were growing up and our trailering trips to Terra Nova. We send our heartfelt condolences to you at this difficult time our thoughts and prayers are with you.

To Marlise, Carlie, Alia; Wally; Kathy,. Keith, Susan and extended family: The news of Ken’s sudden passing has been a shock and overwhelming, but also brought back many great memories of growing up with Ken. Please accept my heartfelt condolences to you all in this time of sorrow.

Uncle Wally, Keith, Kathy, and Pam:
You have our love as you face such monumental sorrow. Although every loss is unique, we have each known the intense sadness and devastation of grief. We will remember Kenny, our cousin … as ‘the first-born’ for you and Aunt Jean; as a childhood playmate; and, as a musician/Dad at our family re-union (sleeping in a tent with his family) with 300 other family members joining the celebrations, in Nan & Grandfather Ball’s garden.
Alia, Carlie and Marlise, your loss is experienced as the daily absence of your Dad, and the man you chose as a life partner. Life will forever be changed. Yet, with your Dad’s love and memories to offer some comfort, you will each find a way to build a new life that includes Ken in your hearts.
We grieve with you all.

To say we are shocked & heart broken is an understatement.
We will remember Ken’s love of music – If was doing a mean version of a Blue Rodeo song or @ 2 years old singing Ode to Newfoundland or O Canada on Poppy Ball’s tape recorder..
We only hope he is somewhere right now, sitting back relaxing by a “Rainbow Fire” strumming his guitar & singing a tune.
Our love & hugs are with his Beautiful girls, Wally, Keith, Kathie, Pam & Families.

Aunt Sherry & Uncle Art

Rod and I and the girls are so shocked and saddened to hear of Ken’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and all the families during this terribly difficult time. Cherish the many good memories, this is what will help you get through the tough days. We had many great times together on Chanterelle. When I hear certain Blue Rodeo songs to this day I can picture Ken with his guitar belting it out in our rec room. May he Rest In Peace and May you all find comfort in knowing that others, like us are sharing in your grief.

To Ken’s family, I am so sad to hear of his passing. I went to Junior/Senior High School with Ken and he sat in front of me in many classes that had a seating plan in alphabetical order(my maiden name was Burke). I have fond memories of Ken in school; he was a friend to all. Thinking of you…

Dear Carlie and family, my most sincere condolences to you all. Truly saddened by this news and sending you all much love and strength during this hard time.

Keith, Susan, (children), Kerri, Troy, (children,), Ken’s wife, his children, his entire family and friends….. we are so saddened to hear this. We both went to school with Ken.
Sibling loss is so so hard.
Husband, Dad… unimaginable.
Grieving is not meant to be understood or guided….. go with your processes, and let your grief guide you. For how long? No one can ever answer that.
Sending you all strength and our sincere condolences…… rest gently Ken.
