With heavy hearts and loving memories we celebrate the life of Linda McDonald who lived a life full of love, laughter and adventure. Linda passed peacefully away on April 20th. Predeceased by her parents, Kevin and Gertrude Murphy, parents in law Jack and Laura McDonald, baby brother Jerome, brother Kevin (Pudge) Murphy, son in law Mark Barbour, and brothers in law Rick Crowe and Jerry McDonald., and sister in law Kim McDonad.
Leaving to mourn, her loving husband and best friend, Wayne, who would have been celebrating 59 years of marriage on April 29th; Children who she adored, Rick, Rhonda (Gerard White), Renee (Evan Kendall); Grandchildren Daniel (Jessica) Brittany (Matthew) and their mother Theresa, Meagan (Daniel), Melanie (Gerardo), Morgan (David), Sara (Nathan), and Hailey; Beautiful Great Grandchildren Aliyah, Kyleigh, Jack, Nixon, Ellie, Evelyn, and Katy. Sisters Roma (Ron) Peddle, Norma Kavanagh, in laws Patsy (Allan) Cooper, Elaine Crowe (Gerry), Linda (Brian) McDonald, Jackie McDonald, Derm McDonald (Lilly), Dallas McDonald and Donna Murphy; Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, former coworkers at Eastern Health and a large number of friends especially Susan, Tony and Julie Power, Marie Murrin, Leona and Dick Nurse, Bev Roche and Lorraine Lloyd.
Public Visitation will take place from Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St. John’s, NL on Thursday, April 23rd, 2026 from 12:00PM-9:00PM.
Father Wayne Dohey will conduct the Funeral Service from The Carnell Memorial Chapel on Friday, April 24th, 2026 at 11:00AM.
Special thanks to the staff of 5 South B HSC, Dr. Robert Woodland (retired) and Dr. Matthew Verge.

There are no words to express my heartbreak over Linda’s passing. Working with Linda all those years at the Janeway left me with so much admiration and respect. for her. Linda’s compassion, kindness and respect for others was admirable.
Linda was more than an employee, she was a good friend..

I was really sorry to hear about Linda. She and Wayne were such a big part of my life growing up, and I’ve been thinking a lot about those times lately. I have a lot of good memories because of you both.
Even though we haven’t seen each other in a while, you’ve always meant a lot to me. Just wanted you to know I’m thinking of you all and sending my deepest condolences
Yesterday we lost an incredible truely beautiful soul, my sister in law Linda, who I loved dearly. She showed me such compassion, strength and kindness when I lost my husband her loving brother Kevin who she adored. I will never forget that love and I will forever be grateful.

Linda and Wayne were such fabulous people. Always loved visiting with them in St Johns and when they would come up to London to see Lorraine. She will most definitely be missed by all. Our sincere condolences to Wayne especially.
