Obituary
Passed away tragically on Sunday May 27th, 2018, aged 43 years and is now reunited with much loved brother, Dale, who passed away in July 2017. Predeceased by father George. Leaving to mourn her caring mother Judy Dale; loving sisters Lisa (Robbie) and Lois; half-sister Joanne; nieces Stephanie and Amanda Joy; special aunt Genevieve Dale; cousins Peter, Susan, Cindy and their families; extended family Sharon, Shawn Follett and their families. Lori has had many special people in her life including friends, colleagues, and members of the AA Family. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Friday June 1st and from 10-12 noon on Saturday, June 2nd. Private funeral at a later date. To Lori’s Family,
I am one of Lori’s many friends within the AA community. I did not know her well but have gotten to know her thru coming regularly to meetings over the past 3 years. Her courage and strength was inspiring as she walked through her very difficult year last year and I was moved by despite her struggles that she would continue to come to meetings – I am grateful for that. I bummed a cigarette from her only 4 weeks ago at the Spring Convention – she was looking good then. A friend commented on how happy she had been of late. I had not been around the meetings much of late and was shocked to hear this news. My heart is broken for your family. Lori was a wonderful person and I am glad that I had the chance to know her. God bless you and your family and we will all be thinking of you in the days to come

I had the pleasure of meeting Lori within the past couple of years as we both struggle with the same disease.. For those of us who have this disease we understand fully the minute to minute, hour to hour, day to day struggle it is to combat the disease. For those who don’t have the disease it’s difficult to understand why we continue this path. This disease is cunning, baffling and very powerful and like other medical diseases, heart, diabetes, cancer it takes a tremendous amount of medical, family and friend support to combat the daily struggle. Unfortunately like the other diseases, at times the disease takes total control, the struggle/fight is over, the pain and suffering is gone, and the individual is at peace, which is the case here. this is David McDonald .I am still in shock ,lori was a friend to all in AA ,I remember the first time I met lori ,she always had a smile ,even when she was herself struggling ,she didn’t hesitate to pick and drive some of the older members to a meeting .she was a kind and big hearted lady .i am so sorry for your lose ,I no she is in a better place ,god bless all of her family ,,she will be missed by a lot of people ..her AA family are is today in mourning ,,she will be missed

I am heartbroken to hear of Lori’s passing. We had been friends since Kindergarten when she called my father “Poppy” and he never let her live it down!! We worked together at MacDonald’s and graduated together from PWC. She was a kind and loving soul and will be sadly missed.
