Obituary
Passed away peacefully on Monday, March 13, 2017 at the Health Sciences Complex, with her family by her side, Lorna Hilda Jessie Walters, age 85 years.
Predeceased by her loving husband Heber, parents Ernest and Ina Roebothan.
Leaving to mourn her children Donna, Roy (Marilyn), Dale Stagg (Bruce), Rendell (Christine), Lorna, Robin (Bridget); grandchildren Desmond and Darren Janes, Jacquelyn, Andrea and Keith Walters, Shelly Hicks and Allison Kendall, Jeffrey Walters and Jillian Walters Gibson, Desiree Skinner, Gavin and Shannon Walters; great grandchildren Amelia Campbell, Nathan and Kaylee Hicks, Hailee and Carter Kendall and Levi and London Gibson; and her fur friends Reese and Rolo. Also leaving to mourn her siblings Cecil (Annie) Roebothan, Winnie Roebothan and June Butler (Walter); as well as other relatives and many friends.
Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Wednesday, March 15 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, March 16 from 10 a.m. – 12 noon. Funeral service will be held from St. Philip’s Anglican Church on Thursday, March 16 at 3 p.m. with interment to follow at St. Philip’s Anglican Cemetery.
Flowers gratefully accepted or memorial donations may be made to St. Philip’s Anglican Church.

It’s been a few years since I spoke to her but I still remember the lovely chats we would have when I use run into her. She was such a wonderful and kind-hearted person. Lorna, Donna, Robin and all of Lorna’s family, our sincerest condolences on the passing of your beautiful Mom. St. Philip’s and St. Philip’s Church family was vastly blessed with the wonderful talents, patience, and love your Mom bestowed on all of us, especially the chikdren. The teaching, patience, encouragement, love, and pride she had for our children was beyond measure; and so many children became successful, confident adukts because of her. She was a talented writer, musician, baker, gardener, Mom, Grandmother, and so, so much more. As I think of her now, as I often do, and reminesce, I have so many wonderful memories of this beautiful woman. When your family first moved to St. Philip’s, your Mom started working at the Royal Stores in the Avalon Mall, where I was working for the summer, my first real job, as a teenager, before college. Later, Ren worked there also. She had just moved to St. Philip’s and used to ask me lots of questions; we shared a special bond.. We were on many Church committees together, the closest being many years of Junior Choir and a Lenten Cafe team. I can’t express enough the importance, love, pride she had in my two sons, Richard and Timothy.. The encouragement and confidence she instilled in them can never be replaced.
