Obituary
Louise E. Reid passed peacefully away on August 15, 2026 at Chancellor Park Long-term Care Centre in St. John’s
For the past three years she had battled with dementia and is finally at peace.
Louise’s greatest joy was her family. Her husband Jim, sons Craig and Rodger and grand-daughters Megan and Rebecca meant the world to her. Her brothers and sisters always remained close to her heart as did Griquet on the Great Northern Peninsula where she grew up and which she always considered home.
Louise and Jim spent a life time outdoors and most often could be found in the woods cutting fire wood and having a mug up.
Louise loved her sons Craig and Rodger dearly and was always proud of them. She absolutely adored her granddaughters Megan and Rebecca and treasured every moment with them. Whether it was making cookies with them or picking berries or being present for the special moments like school concerts and dance recitals, Nana wanted to be present. She was always one of their biggest supporters.
Louise’s life could not be remembered without mention of her students. As a teacher, of 29 years, she loved her students and took great joy in seeing them come through the door each and every year
Leaving to mourn, her loving son Rodger Reid , daughter-in-law Denise Reid, grand-daughters Megan Reid and Rebecca Reid, Sisters Gaye Parsons (Eugene), Olive Blake (Corbett, dec), Brothers Ed Taylor (Hilda), Nelson Taylor (Sadie), Sister-in-law Glenda Smith (Eugene, dec) and a large circle nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by her loving husband James Reid, son Craig Reid, Sister-in law Eileen Sheppard (Lorne), Sister-in-law Fern Stevenson (William) Sister-in-law Phyllis Pike (David). Nieces Carol Smith, Kelli Dominix-Smith and Nephew Wayne Sheppard.
Cremation has already taken place.
A celebration of life will be held at Grace United Church in Coley’s Point at 2:00 PM on Thursday August 27th.

Roger, I was so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. I’m sure she is in a better place. Take care of yourself. May she rest in peace.
