It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, Louise, on June 20, 2025, at the age of 90, at the Caribou Memorial Veteran’s Pavilion. Louise was a beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Born in St. Philip’s, Louise lived a life marked by kindness, strength, and dedication to family and community. Throughout her life, she touched the hearts of many with her warm spirit, generosity, and unwavering support for others.
Louise was known for her years of service in the local ACW (Anglican Church Women); she loved to entertain, performing skits such as “Sal the Cleaning Lady” and “The Golden Girls”, with the ACW. She was also involved with the Adventure 50+ Club as president, vice president, and in any other position that was available. She dearly enjoyed dancing, playing darts, and playing cards with family and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert. Her parents, Levi and Lillian Squires, her six brothers, Ches, Levi, Ern, Ralph, Gordon, Len, and Cyril, daughter-in-law Marian, son-in-law Wayne Fitzpatrick, grandsons Russell and Robbie, granddaughter Danielle, and great-grandchild Claire Bear.
Louise is survived by her children Bobby (Iris), Linda, Donny, Barb (Derek), Edie, Larry (Joanne), Ernie (Debbie), Gordie, David (Gerri), and her sister Irene (Steve), sister-in-laws Karen and Joan. Also left to mourn are her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
Her presence brought joy and comfort to those around her, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of family and friends.
Mom will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at the Caribou Memorial Veteran’s Pavilion for all their compassion and kindness over the past four years.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Innocents Anglican Church in Paradise.

Sorry to hear of Louise’s passing. We are away at this time and will not be able to attend her service.
Louise was so kind and caring, a home that everyone was made welcome! One of my earliest memories, is when our Mom sent Aunt Ruby for her to come to take her to the hospital. Our mom was very sick after giving birth to my sister. Without hesitation Louise was there to help.. I can still see the little white car passing me on the road as I walked to school.
Louise was always there for anyone who needed her 💗
Our sincere condolences to all the family,
May the days ahead bring you comfort

our deepest condolences to the family of louise, god bless.
To all of Louise’s family, love and sympathy to you all. Louise’s was a sweet, intelligent and interesting person. She loved life, getting out and having fun .I remember the early days, when she and Rob were first married, and the first 2 or3 of their children were young. They loved to go out partying with their friends on Saturday night. Sometimes Charlie and I, who were dating, would babysit for them. I’ve always remembered how happy they all seemed to be. They were a big family and seemed very close throughout many years I have known them. This is a very sad time for all of you, especially you Donnie, losing your wife and Mom the same week. I didn’t know Marian, everyone tells me she was a sweet quiet woman. Life can be very hard sometimes, but as my Nan, and Louise’s Aunt Virtue, always said “God always gives the back to bear the burden.” So rest assured God will comfort you all, and Louise’s only sister Irene, living in Ont., and last surviving member of the family, sympathy and love to you as well. May Louise and Marian, rest in peace and rise in glory, and may the light of God always shine upon them. Sincerely, Shirley and Charlie.

Aunt Louise was a wonderful woman and was always there with a smile. I moved away from Newfoundland in 1979, but made it a point to visit her whenever I went home.
